“It’s only one step.” ♿️

For many people, it might be. For others, it’s the difference between getting in and having to turn around.

These are just some of the comments Disabled people hear all the time when a venue isn’t accessible. While they might sound harmless, they often overlook the impact that even a single step can have.

If you’re tired of turning up somewhere only to find unexpected barriers, download the free Sociability app to check accessibility before you visit and explore with confidence. Link in our bio!

And that’s a wrap on our 2026 Community Days! 🥳🎉

We went out with a bang in Newcastle for our final Community Day of the year, and what an incredible year it’s been - our biggest ever yet! 😮👏

Across our Community Days in London, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle, plus our annual Sociability Naidex After Party, we welcomed over 200 of you throughout the year!

It’s been so lovely seeing these events grow, meeting new people and watching our online community turn into real-life connections and friendships. 💙

We can’t wait to do it all again next year. 👀

Keep an eye on our socials for the 2027 Community Day calendar!

Where should we go next? Drop your city below! 👀👇

Who is going to Naidex Roadshow? 👀♿️

We had such a great time at Naidex earlier this year, trying out everything from accessible tech to adapted cycling!

One of our highlights was testing this handcycle with Adrian from ICE Trikes 🚲⚡️

Naidex is always a brilliant chance to discover new products, meet people across the Disabled community and find out what’s happening in the world of accessibility.

Will we be seeing you at Naidex Roadshow? Or have you every tried hand cycling? Let us know below 👇

“It’ll be fine! Let’s just get the bus!” 🚌

For many wheelchair users, catching a bus isn’t quite that simple.

Will the ramp work? Will the wheelchair space be free? Will someone move? Will the driver help? Will I actually be able to get on?

When every journey comes with so many unknowns, something as simple as catching a bus can become a source of stress and uncertainty.

Have you experienced this? What’s the biggest barrier you face when travelling by bus? 💬👇

Think disability is niche? 🤔

We’re a community of over 1 billion people worldwide - one of the largest communities on earth. (World Health Organisation) 🌎

The Disabled population is also unique as a minority group: it’s the only one anyone can become part of at any point in their life. It isn’t fixed to a single identity or background, which is why accessibility matters to all of us, not just some of us.

When access isn’t built in, it doesn’t affect a small group, it affects a huge and constantly growing part of society.

Which entrance are you choosing? Whether you use a mobility aid or not 👀

Accessibility is often framed as an “extra” for Disabled people, when in reality it’s something that makes life easier for so many of us.

Parents with buggies. People with suitcases. Delivery workers. Someone recovering from an injury. Or anyone who simply wants the easiest route.

That’s the thing about accessible design, it rarely benefits just one group.

Which entrance would you choose? Let us know in the comments. 💬👇
