Some days, you are not going to be in the zone 🎯

It's near impossible for every session to go full throttle.

It just doesn't happen.

For whatever reason, some sessions suck...

It can be down to anything...

Tired
Aching
Not in the mood

Whatever it is, it doesn't mean you've lost anything or you are stalling out.

The progress will still continue πŸ‘Š

You have options on these days...

1️⃣ Grit your teeth

You just keep plodding on.

Accept it's a sh*tty feeling type of workout, but it'll make you feel 10 times better once it's done.

2️⃣ Back off

You still work out. You just reduce weights and volume.

It's still a win.

3️⃣ Change things up

You still work out. But you change the workout type.

Either to something you enjoy or something that's relatively easier.

Think of it as a recovery day.

4️⃣ Active recovery

If lifting is feeling way too heavy to what it should.

Active recovery is a great idea πŸ’‘

Go for a walk or light jog. That kind of thing.

When weights feel overly heavy for what they should.

Potentially, the CNS is tired, and it's telling you.

5️⃣ Quit

Quit and blame it on the gods.

What's the point of training anyway it only makes you feel and look better, reduces the risk of heart disease, allows your body to move more freely, reduces aches and pains, fixes mental health issues, balances hormones, reduces body fat, increase your life span with more indepeance, allows you to stay active with your kids and much more.

Too much work, tho.

Doritos and cupcakes it is.

Back and Bicep Workout

Firstly...

It's for everyone, ladies, that's directed at you.

With love, of course. ❀️

Quite a common routine to have splitting back and biceps into their own day.

Don't over ramp it.

Less is more.

If you're of middle age like myself, the recovery isn't quite what it used to be.

Pick 4 or 5 movements.

Do them with intent

Do them with control.

Take one or two sets to failure if you really want to. There's no need, but I get it.

Pushing too many sets to failire just increases the recovery phase.

And what do we want...

We want consistency.

The more often you can train, recover, train...

The better off you will be.

Ladies....

Building a lot of muscle can take almost a lifetime to achieve.

It's hard to do.

You will not do a set of bicep curls and wake up in the morning, and whoopsy you've become Jackie Jacked Chan.

What it'll actually do in time...

Reduce the tape measurements by burning body fat.

Tone and shape the body by slowly building up lean muscle

Don't be afraid to lift

Don't be afraid to do what the men do πŸ’ͺ

1️⃣ Romanian Deadlift

Build and strengthen the muscles that get underused from too much sitting.

These muscles become weaker due to the modern lifestyle we currently have.

Use RDL's to maintain power and strength as we age.

2️⃣ Pallof Press

Protect your core and your back.

This looks easy until you try it.

Works anti rotation and teaches you stability.

3️⃣ Sled Push

We've touched on this, but it's that good of a movement.

Low impact, easy to recover from.

And it is easy to learn.

If you can't squat?

You sled push.
