With children heading back to school this week, it can be tricky deciding whether or not to keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell.

Our Autumn/Winter vaccination clinics will be held at the Practice on Saturday 3th & 17th October 2026.

You can get the free flu vaccine if you:
• are aged 65 or over
• have certain long-term health conditions
• are pregnant
• live in a care home
• are the main carer for someone, or receive a carer's allowance
• live with someone who has a weakened immune system

A Covid vaccine booster is also available for a smaller group of patients who:
• are residents in a care home for older adults
• are aged 75 years and over
• are immunosuppressed due to disease or treatment

📱 Appointment invites are being sent out to patients via text message, and we will call those patients that do not have a mobile number on their records. However, if you are eligible and wish to book before you receive your invitation, then please contact the Practice.

We will also be calling those patients who are registered as housebound, with details of when the team will visit.

You may receive a letter or text from the national booking system inviting you to one of the local pharmacies to have a Flu jab and/or Covid Booster.
We strongly urge you to have your vaccinations with the Practice. The Practice has knowledge of which other vaccines you require and will administer them at the same time. This is very important to protect against other disease.
The practice relies on the income generated from the flu program to fund our Practice. Without this income we would risk having to reduce some of our services.

Has your child missed an MMR or MMRV vaccine?

This Immunisation Awareness Month, make sure your child has the protection they need against serious illnesses 🛡️

The MMRV vaccine helps protect children against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox. Children who have missed one or more doses can still catch up.

Check your child's vaccination record in their Red Book or contact your GP practice if you're not sure they're up to date. If your child has missed a vaccine, your GP practice can help arrange a catch-up appointment.

The Government has released new advice on physical exercise stating that any activity is better than none, and more is better still.

Advice like this is why our Act Now, Age Better campaign is so vital as we encourage you to start moving in the way that suits you best. Every small change can make a big difference when it comes to ageing.

It’s never too late to start exercising, and every minute counts. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity per week or at least 75 minutes of vigorous intensity per week, or a combination of both.
