Yesterday we celebrated Alan's birthday and spent the afternoon playing table football fast and furiously. The rest of the rainy afternoon was spent with a hilarious marine-themed wild quiz called 'True or Fish'

This week is International Men's Health Week, an annual campaign that aims to address preventable healthcare problems for men and boys. Addressing gender gaps in life expectancy, health screening, men's mental health and more, the awareness event tackles the stigma that still exists surrounding these conversations for many men. Discussion, early support and treatment can make all of the difference - as can those important conversations about fitness and wellbeing. Please do seek advice, and encourage your loved ones to do the same

Our lovely, and very hard working management accountant Dot is taking on the Spire to Shire Ultra Run this Saturday in aid of four amazing charities. We know that she would be so very grateful, as would the charities, if you could spare a donation to spur her on. The details of the charities are in the running club's page linked below

💚✨ ANGELS 2026 – OUR CHALLENGE IS SET ✨💚

On Saturday 20th June 2026, Overseal Running Club will once again lace up our shoes and take on our biggest community challenge of the year.

This year’s Angels event will see our runners cover distances from 5K right up to 42 miles, cascading along the route and finishing together at The Robin Hood Pub — united, proud, and running with purpose.

But Angels has never just been about the miles.

It’s about who we run for.

In 2026 we are raising funds for four incredible causes:

💚 Parkinson's UK

💚 Alzheimer's Society
https://www.justgiving.com/page/justin-kirkham-9?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

💚 Dementia UK

💚 Ivy House School, Derby

These charities represent families, friends, and members of our own community. This is personal. This is purposeful.

Our collective goal across all four charities is £10,000.

If you’ve supported us before, you’ll know what this club can do when it comes together. If you’re new to Angels, You’re about to witness something special.

Whether you donate, share our page, cheer us on, or simply follow our journey — you are part of this.

We are also welcoming donations to a charity fundraising raffle on the day of the race at The Robin Hood 💚

We don’t run to win.
We run to test the limit of our heart and soul.

Let’s turn miles into meaning once again. 💚

We have had a glorious Monday. We enjoyed a walk in the woods, and one of our residents delighted in sharing what they remembered about bees with a local dog walker. After lunch we painted wild themed stones, which we cannot wait to dry and varnish. Our armchair exercises seemed easy after the invigorating day we'd had Devon Wildlife Trust The Wildlife Trusts

To celebrate the King's birthday we enjoyed a themed quiz, before giving a rousing 'Long Live the King' hip-hip hooray. Great conversations were sparked about lovely moments our residents shared; where they were during the King's milestone years. One resident had even met him, which was fascinating to hear about
