Today, Buchan House was delighted to welcome Dr Simon Poole for a special visit.

Dr Poole previously worked as the visiting GP at our sister home, Etheldred House Care Home, where Tanya, Suja, and Fearne had the pleasure of working alongside him.

During his visit, Dr Poole kindly presented us with a copy of his new book, 100 Questions and Answers About Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Thank you, Dr Poole, for taking the time to visit us and for being part of our care journey. We greatly appreciate your continued support and look forward to staying connected.

Weekly sparkle day lots of good snippets about this week from yesteryear, Today’s topics include coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953, D-Day landings in 1944, filling pancakes with leftover meat and vegetables, postage stamp vending machines, how long it takes to grow a Wisteria plant to a beautiful plant, rock stars who smashed their guitars on stage as part of their performances, the story of the Beatles song penny lane and playing table tennis on the kitchen table plus a couple of quizzes

Our monthly church service was held today with David from The Church of the good shepherd , today our readings were about the Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit taught us that he is a holy gift to everyone.
