I was a City lawyer and I struggled silently for decades.
From the outside, I had everything. The career. The education. The approval. My parents were proud. The aunties had nothing to say — for once.
But here's what nobody saw:
The panic attacks. The Monday dread that started on Sunday morning. The performance of I'm fine that I'd rehearsed so many times I almost believed it myself.
I was the good daughter. The high achiever. The one who never complained.
And I was quietly breaking underneath all of it.
When I finally stopped pretending, everything changed. Not overnight. Not easily. But deeply.
That's why I do this work now. Not because I read about it in a textbook. Because I lived it. Because I rebuilt myself from the inside out. And because I know exactly what it feels like to have everyone around you think you're thriving while you're drowning.
If any of this sounds familiar — you're not broken. You're exhausted from performing.
