Across the UK, the eclipse begins around 6:10–6:20pm, reaches its maximum at roughly 7:05–7:15pm, and finishes around 8:00–8:10pm (times vary by location). The Sun will be more than 90% covered in many parts of the country.

Astrologically, this is a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 20° Leo, close to the South Node ,part of the wider Leo–Aquarius eclipse cycle running through 2026–28. It’s traditionally associated with themes of releasing old patterns, reclaiming authentic self-expression, creativity and stepping into a new chapter. ✨

Whether you experience it as astronomy, astrology, or simply a beautiful moment to pause and look up.

☀️A gentle reminder: please don’t look directly at the Sun, even during the eclipse. 🌞👀 Use proper ISO-certified eclipse glasses or a safe solar viewing method.

Or make a 'pinhole projector'
Take a piece of plain white paper or card.
Make a tiny, clean round hole in it with a pin or needle.
Turn your back to the Sun ; don’t look through the hole at the Sun.
Hold the paper so sunlight passes through the hole onto a second sheet of white paper/card.

You’ll see a small projected image of the Sun on the second paper.
During the eclipse, that little circle will gradually become a crescent shape. 🌑

You can make several tiny holes in different patterns and see multiple little crescent Suns projected onto the paper.

Important: The hole is a projector, not a filter. Never look through the hole directly at the Sun. And ordinary sunglasses, cameras, binoculars or telescopes are not safe substitutes for proper solar viewing filters.
