💙 MOVEMBER – MEN’S HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH 💙

November is , a time to raise awareness of men’s health and encourage conversations that could save lives. 🥸

💙 This Movember, let’s talk about:
🔹 Prostate cancer – know the signs and speak to your GP about any concerns.
🔹 Testicular cancer – get to know what’s normal for you and report any changes.
🔹 Mental health and su***de prevention – check in with the men in your life. A simple “How are you really doing?” can make a difference.

👨‍⚕️ Your health matters. Don’t ignore symptoms, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and remember that it’s OK not to be OK.

📞 If you have concerns about your physical or mental health, please contact your GP surgery for advice and support.

💙 Let’s break the stigma, start conversations and encourage men to put their health first.

Stress can affect anyone, at any time. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

🌿 Here are a few ways to help manage stress:
💚 Take regular breaks and make time for yourself.
💚 Try gentle exercise, such as walking.
💚 Talk to someone you trust about how you’re feeling.
💚 Make time for activities you enjoy.
💚 Remember, it’s okay to ask for help.

You don’t have to struggle alone. 💚

If stress is affecting your daily life, please speak to your GP practice for support and advice.

Let’s take a moment this week to check in with ourselves and the people around us. A simple “How are you?” can make a real difference.

⚠️MEDICINE RECALL NOTICE – LERCANIDIPINE 10mg TABLETS⚠️

We would like to make our patients aware of a precautionary recall affecting one batch of Lercanidipine Hydrochloride 10mg Tablets, manufactured by Accord-UK Ltd. A packaging mix-up has been identified in which a pack of 10mg tablets may contain a blister strip of 20mg tablets.

🔎 What should you check?:
If you have been prescribed Lercanidipine 10mg Tablets supplied by Accord-UK Ltd, please check the batch number on the outer carton.
📦 **Affected batch number: M2510877**

Please check the blister strips inside your pack carefully:

✅If all blister strips are labelled 10mg: You can continue taking your medication as prescribed.

❌If any blister strip is labelled 20mg: Do not take the tablets from that strip. Please contact or take them back to your pharmacy.

🚨 If you think you have taken a 20mg tablet and are experiencing side effects, such as dizziness, headache, flushing or palpitations, seek immediate medical advice.

💊 If you need advice or are unsure what to do, please contact your community pharmacy. Take your medication leaflet and any remaining tablets with you if seeking advice in person.

🧠 WORLD STROKE DAY – 29th October💙🤍

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. Knowing the signs could help save a life.
🚨 Think FAST:
F – Face: Has their face fallen on one side?
A – Arms: Can they raise both arms and keep them there?
S – Speech: Is their speech slurred or confused?
T – Time: If you notice any of these signs, call 999 immediately.

⏰ Acting quickly can reduce the risk of long-term disability and save lives.

What do parents need to know about measles?

Measles spreads easily and can make children very poorly.

Look out for:
🤒High fever
😮‍💨Cough and runny nose
👀Sore eyes
🔴A blotchy rash (usually starts on the face and behind the ears)

If you think your child has measles, keep them at home and call your GP or NHS 111.

The MMRV vaccine is the best way to protect them – check they’re up to date.
