📅 Appointment Update for Our Patients 📅

We would like to keep our patients informed about current appointment availability at the surgery.

We are currently offering more appointments than ever before, with two GP's working all day, every weekday. Despite increasing our capacity, demand for GP services continues to grow, and we are seeing more requests for appointments than ever before.

At present, the lead time for routine GP appointments is approximately 4–5 weeks. While we appreciate this may be longer than many would like, our clinical teams are working hard to meet increasing demand and ensure patients receive the care they need.

✅ If your problem is urgent, please let our reception team know when you contact us so we can ensure you are directed to the most appropriate service.

✅ Our team may also offer appointments with other healthcare professionals within the practice, such as nurses, clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, or other members of our wider clinical team, who may be able to help sooner.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and kindness towards our staff. We remain committed to providing safe, high-quality care for all our patients and will continue to do our very best to improve access wherever possible.

Whether you're at work, on a shift pattern, managing family life, caring for loved ones, or simply juggling a packed schedule, the NHS App offers a quick and convenient way to order your repeat medication whenever it suits you. ✅

🌟 No need to remember to call during the day.
🌟 Order at a time that works for you – morning, evening or even during your lunch break.
🌟 Simply submit your request through the app and we'll process it during our medication ordering hours.

If the NHS App isn't for you, we also offer a dedicated prescription email service, allowing you to send your medication requests at any time of the day or night. Your request will then be actioned during our normal processing hours.

Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Your medication should be ready within 2 working days.

💙 RSV Vaccinations for Over‑75's, Pregnant Patients & Care Home Residents💙

We are currently sending out texts and letters to eligible patients about the RSV vaccine.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is an infection that affects the airways and lungs, and can be more serious for older adults, pregnant people, and young babies.

💉 We are running multiple RSV clinics to offer a single‑dose vaccine for those who are eligible.

You can get a free RSV vaccination on the NHS if:

- You’re 28 weeks pregnant or more – this helps protect your baby for the first few months after birth

- You’re aged 75 or over

- You live in a care home for older adults

If you feel you meet the criteria but haven’t heard from us yet, please don’t hesitate to give the surgery a call — we’re always happy to help you get booked in.

🌞💛 Heatwave Health Advice – The Hot Weather Is Here! Stay Safe 💛🌞

With the hot weather already upon us, we’d like to remind all our patients how to stay safe and well during the heat 🌡️

While sunshine can be lovely ☀️, high temperatures can be dangerous, especially for some people. Heat can lead to dehydration, overheating, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.

🌼 Who needs to take extra care?
Please keep an extra eye on:-
👵 Older adults (especially over 75)
👶 Babies and young children
❤️ Those with long-term conditions (heart, lung, diabetes, etc.)
🏡 People living alone or who may struggle to keep cool
💊 Those on multiple medications
👉 If you have family, friends or neighbours in these groups, a quick check-in can make a big difference 💬

🧊 Top tips to stay safe in the heat:-
✅ Keep out of the heat
🌳 Stay in the shade, especially between 11am–3pm
👕 Wear light, loose clothing, a hat & sunglasses
🧴 Use sunscreen regularly

✅ Stay hydrated
💧 Drink plenty of water
🚫 Limit alcohol, caffeine & sugary drinks

✅ Keep cool
🚿 Take cool showers or splash skin with cool water
🥗 Eat cold foods where possible

✅ Keep your home cool
🏠 Close curtains/blinds on sunnier sides during the day
🌙 Open windows at night when it’s cooler

⚠️ Look out for signs of heat illness:-
Be alert for:
🤕 Headache, dizziness, nausea
🥵 Feeling very hot or unwell

➡️ These could be signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke, which may require urgent attention

💙 A gentle reminder

✔️ Carry water when out and about
✔️ Avoid strenuous activity in the heat
✔️ Never leave anyone (or pets!) in a parked car 🚗
✔️ Check on others who may need help
