Practice Update – Limited Capacity Today

Due to unexpected GP sickness, Village Surgery is operating at reduced clinical capacity today.

Our team is working hard to prioritise urgent medical needs and maintain patient safety. As a result, there may be longer waiting times for appointments, telephone calls, and routine enquiries.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding while we manage today's service pressures. If your condition is non-urgent, please consider using NHS 111 online or contacting us on another day where appropriate.

Thank you for your support.

Karma Nirvana

At Karma Nirvana, support is available for individuals affected by honour-based abuse, forced marriage, domestic abuse, and harmful practices. As a practice, we understand that these situations can be extremely difficult, isolating, and frightening for those experiencing them, and we want our patients to know that they are not alone.

At Village Surgery, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment for all patients. We recognise the importance of access to specialist organisations that can offer confidential advice, advocacy, safety planning, and emotional support tailored to individual circumstances.

We proudly endorse Karma Nirvana’s Get Help Service because of the vital work they do in supporting victims and survivors across the UK. Their experienced team provides compassionate guidance and practical support to anyone affected, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, or background.

Patients can access support directly through Karma Nirvana for:

Confidential advice and emotional support
Help relating to honour-based abuse or forced marriage
Safety planning and safeguarding support
Advocacy and guidance regarding legal options
Support for friends, family members, or professionals seeking advice
Village Surgery encourages any patient who may need support, or who is worried about someone else, to seek help. If you feel unable to speak openly at home or in your community, please remember that support services are available confidentially and safely.

Your safety, wellbeing, and right to be heard matter.

πŸ“’ Patient Update: Missed Appointments (DNA) at Village Surgery
At Village Surgery, we are committed to providing the best possible care for all our patients. However, in recent months we have seen an increase in missed appointments (Did Not Attend – DNA).

We are sharing this information to raise awareness and encourage everyone to let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. Even a short notice cancellation allows us to reallocate that time to another patient β€” helping to reduce waiting times and increase access for everyone.

How You Can Help
Please cancel appointments you cannot attend – by phone, text reply, or online.

Update your contact details to ensure you receive appointment reminders.

Arrive on time – if you’re running late, call us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

By working together, we can reduce DNAs, increase appointment availability, and ensure our community continues to receive timely, high-quality care.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Important Update: Changes to Your Annual Long Term Condition Reviews (LTC)

At Village Surgery, we are always looking at ways to improve how we care for our patients.

We are pleased to let you know that we are changing the way we manage Long-Term Condition (LTC) annual reviews to make the process simpler, more efficient, and more convenient for you.

βœ… What’s changing?
Previously, patients with more than one long-term condition (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure) may have been invited for separate appointments throughout the year.

We are now introducing a new Multi-Condition Review system.

πŸ”„ What does this mean for you?
If you have more than one long-term condition, you will now:

Be invited for one annual review appointment
Have all of your conditions reviewed together
Receive a more joined-up and personalised approach to your care
πŸ’‘ Why are we making this change?
This new approach will:

Reduce the number of appointments you need to attend
Help you manage your health more easily
Allow our clinical team to look at your health as a whole, not just one condition at a time
Improve the quality and coordination of your care
πŸ“… When will this happen?
This new system will begin from April 2026
You will be contacted when your review is due.

πŸ“² What do I need to do?
Please ensure your contact details are up to date
When invited, book your appointment promptly
Some reviews may include a pre-appointment questionnaire or initial checks (e.g. blood tests or blood pressure readings)
❀️ We’re here to support you
If you have any questions about this change, please contact our reception team.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to improve our services.

Patient Update: Your Feedback is Driving Change at Village Surgery

We are pleased to share that our Patient Feedback, Complaints & Learning Report for 2025/26 is now available to view on our website. Under Complaints & feedback section)

At Village Surgery, your feedback is incredibly important to us. It helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can improve, ensuring we continue to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care for all our patients.

We believe that feedback should lead to meaningful action. That is why we follow our β€œSo What?” approach β€” not only listening and responding to concerns, but asking:

What have we learned?
What has changed as a result?
This ensures that every piece of feedback contributes to real improvements and positive change across our services.

Our latest report highlights:

The types of feedback and complaints we have received
What we have learned from them
The actions we have taken to improve patient care
We remain committed to a transparent and open learning culture, where patient voices are valued and drive continuous improvement.

πŸ’¬ Have Your Say
Your feedback continues to shape our services.

If you would like to share your experience, raise a concern, or provide suggestions, please:

Speak to a member of our team
Contact us via phone or our website
πŸ™ Thank You
Thank you for helping us improve. Together, we are making Village Surgery better for everyone.
