As you will all know those featured on your plaques are long dead occupants of your homes and businesses. But when Wandsworth resident Phillip contacted me, having taken down my address from a plaque nearby to his house, to say could he have a plaque to stop the continuous stream of members of the public knocking on his door day and night. I jumped at the chance to feature this living legend of the sporting world. Liasing with Frank's agent re the wording. Here it is. I will be checking back with Philip soon to see if it has worked.

As many of you will know I try as much as possible to champion women's contributions to society on my plaques and here in Steyning is one such example. Alison was a fashion journalist whose opinion could make or break a fashion designers reputation. This plaque is one of 21 that can be found on Steyning High Street and commissioned by the Steyning Festival for an event in May , but will be permanently in the windows of shops there. High Streets are the life blood of towns accross the UK. If you live in one and think that your town needs some blue plaques like Tenterden business woman Gea did from Gea Pereira who then contacted Tenterden Town Council (now 30 plaques) Then pop a message to your local Council and bring the history of those who came before us to those important streets.

Another 23 miles added this morning to bring my total so far to 225 miles. The lovely people PCR have given us extra time to complete our 300 miles due to many of us being unable to cycle in last weeks extreme heat . Who is going to take me over £500? So incredibly grateful to everyone who has so far donated to this wonderful organisation. Even just a fiver can help fund more research. ( Especially if you add gift aid) I plan to complete by the end of the week and proudly wear my tee provided. Thank you guys and have a fabulous evening Sx ♥️

I love it when someone sees one of my plaques and then thinks I want one too. Little did I know however that when local businesses owner Gea from the beautiful homeware shop Gea Pereira saw a plaque in the shop of Folkestone's Ben from that a year later I would be putting up my 23rd plaque on Tenterden High Street. Gea contacted Tenterden Town Council and said it would be a wonderful way to promote local businesses. Thank you to Ginny from the council who has been amazing and is now super skilled in putting up my plaques too! The plaques now form a trail around the town. If you think that your local community would benefit from promoting local businesses and celebrating the lives of those who came before us. Drop me a message. Happy Weekend guys Si.
