📢 Important: Please keep your contact details up to date
You may have heard about changes to the way GP practice patient lists are being checked. NHS England is currently carrying out checks to make sure GP patient records are accurate and that people are registered with the correct practice.
As part of this process, some patients may be contacted to confirm that they are still registered with their GP practice. If a practice cannot confirm that someone is still registered, they may be removed from the practice list.
You can help by:
📍 Making sure we have your current address
📞 Keeping your telephone number up to date
📧 Checking that we have your correct email address
✉️ Responding to any messages or letters from the practice about your registration
🏠 Letting us know if you move house
It is particularly important that we can contact you if you receive regular monitoring, medication reviews, screening or other ongoing care.
The current process gives practices a shorter period to respond to some registration checks, so please don't ignore messages from us.
If you have recently moved or changed your contact details, please let us know so we can update your records.
Thank you for helping us to keep your information accurate and, most importantly, helping us to keep you connected with your GP practice.

Helen Thornhill, Strategic Centre Manager at Gamesley Community Centre, has been named a finalist in the BBC Make a Difference Awards.

Run in partnership with the BBC’s network of local radio stations across the UK, the awards celebrate people who make a positive impact in their local communities. They were created to shine a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for others.

The awards were officially launched earlier this year by broadcaster Gaby Roslin on BBC One’s The One Show, with this year’s winners due to be announced in September.

Helen has been shortlisted in the Fundraiser category, which recognises an individual or group who has gone the extra mile to raise money for a good cause.

She was nominated in recognition of her work at Gamesley Community Centre and her efforts to support fundraising and bring the local community together.

Helen shared her story with BBC Radio Manchester, speaking about the fundraising efforts taking place in Gamesley, the challenges faced along the way, and the joy of seeing the community come together. You can listen via the link below.

Congratulations to Helen on becoming a finalist - and good luck for the awards!
