In five well-equipped consulting rooms we conduct the eye examination appropriate for you. We pride ourselves on taking the time to understand your needs in detail and carefully explain why certain tests are necessary. This approach ensures we always carry out a thorough investigation of your vision, assess your eye co-ordination, examine your eyes for possible health problems, and offer advice on

any specific occupational or recreational needs. We are committed to ongoing professional development and the training of support staff in order to maintain the highest standards of clinical care and service. Our Dispensing Opticians are all professionally qualified and our clinical assistants hold the Diploma as Clinical Assistants in Optometry. Our Optometrists undertake a rigorous continuing education programme both in the UK and overseas, ensuring that we provide a service that is based on best practice from around the world.

Let the fun be-Gin! 🍸

On Saturday, our Staff Social Team organised a fantastic visit to Rockfield Distillery for their Gin Tour & Tasting Experience.

We enjoyed a guided tour of the working distillery, learning about the gin-making process before sampling a selection of expertly crafted gins and perfectly paired mixers.

With delicious non-alcoholic options available too, everyone was able to enjoy the experience 😋

ABDO's Vice President visits Hereford! 👓

On Tuesday, BBR was delighted to welcome Deborah Bill, Vice President of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO), as part of the organisation's celebrations marking 100 years of the dispensing optician profession.

ABDO is the professional body responsible for training and representing the UK's Dispensing Opticians, including BBR's own team of six registered DOs. Our dispensing team provides expert advice on eyewear, fits contact lenses, and runs low vision clinics. While often mistaken for technicians or salespeople, BBR is proud to be one of the few practices where all dispensing services are provided exclusively by fully registered Dispensing Opticians, or student Optometrists/DOs.

It was a pleasure to showcase the work we do at BBR, celebrate the invaluable contribution of Dispensing Opticians, and reflect on the profession's proud history and exciting future. Thank you to Deborah for taking the time to visit us and for supporting this landmark centenary celebration. 💙

She's often the one handing our staff their flowers or presents, but this time SHE's the recipient 💐

This year Suzanne Wadsworth, Director and Clinical Lead, is celebrating a milestone 20 years working at BBR! Suzanne joined us in 2006, initially as maternity cover, and has since become an integral part of the BBR family, helping to shape the practice into what it is today.

Over the last two decades, Suzanne's dedication, leadership, expertise and genuine care for both patients and colleagues have made a lasting impact on everyone who has worked with her.

Thank you, Suzanne, for your incredible commitment, hard work and passion. We are so grateful for everything you do and couldn't imagine BBR without you.

Rahul is our newest MSci Optometry student joining us on placement from the The University of Manchester 💜

This week, he’ll be shadowing clinics and getting a feel for all aspects of practice life before he begins seeing patients himself next week. To give him a warm welcome to Hereford and the BBR team, Suzanne and Daniel presented him with our customary welcome hamper, packed full of local goodies and treats! 😋🤗
