April had range. 🌍✨

Devil’s D**e with wind in my face and mud on my boots. Sweden pines that made me stop and just breathe. 🌲 Landing in Tanzania and feeling my whole nervous system exhale. 🌿 Passion fruit fresh from the garden. Laughing in a jeep with an incredible team. Celebrating my client who ran the Paris marathon 🥹🏅 Back in London with a friend from my Soneva Fushi days, working in the Maldives gave me more than memories, it gave me connections I truly cherish.
This is what the work looks like from the outside. But underneath it all whether I’m in a treatment room in London or a safari lodge in Tanzania, the thread is the same. Osteopathy and somatics are both asking the same question: can you come back to your body, right here, right now? Nature just makes it easier to say yes. 🙌
Grounded, present, alive to wherever I am. That’s April. 🌿

When your nervous system is in fight or flight, being asked to drop into your body can feel impossible. Sometimes even a deep breath feels like too much it draws more attention to a system that’s already overwhelmed.
This is where somatics begins gently. Not with stillness. Not with breathing exercises. But with slow, intentional movement starting with the areas where stress actually lives.
The jaw. The shoulders. The hips. The hands.
Small movements. Deliberate pace. A way back in without forcing it.

🌿 Your nervous system was designed for nature.

When we step outside, something shifts. Our breath slows. Our shoulders drop. That tight, braced feeling in the body begins to soften. This is your autonomic nervous system moving out of survival mode and back into rest.

This is somatics in action. The body holds our stress, our patterns and also the pathway out of them. Nature is one of the most ancient somatic regulators we have. The sound of water, the feeling of earth underfoot, the fractal patterns of leaves these are signals your nervous system recognises at a primal level. You are safe. You can exhale. 🍃

You don’t need a forest or a mountain. Even a few minutes outside with your full attention can begin to shift your state. Let nature do what it was always meant to do bring you back into your body. 🌍

Our bodies are meant to move and age shouldn’t determine how you move.

But it’s not just about getting older, it’s about awareness.
You need to understand where to start.
How a movement is meant to feel.
What you’re actually targeting.

Are you present when you exercise?
Are you moving correctly or just going through the motions?
Do you feel confident in the movement you’re performing?
Are you breathing properly?

There’s always a place to start. But I’ve noticed such a disconnect between doing a movement and actually understanding what it’s for.
Take the time to learn what you’re doing. Or choose smaller classes where you can get guidance and feedback.

A strong foundation changes everything. That’s why I love prehab. I love helping people reconnect to their bodies moving with intention, understanding what their body needs, instead of just following what’s on trend.
