Build your confidence and connect with your bowls in a mentorship session. 💕

Thank you Annabel for your lovely review! I’m so glad you found our session useful.

I love getting to work with people with all kinds of experience in sound healing. As well as foundation workshops for beginners, I offer mentorship sessions for people who already have a level of knowledge and training but have found themselves stuck.

This could be because…

They aren’t sure about their playing technique.
They are nervous about preparing to host their first sound bath.
They feel out of practice and a bit disconnected from their bowls.

A mentorship session is a time for you to use however you find helpful so you can move forward with your crystal singing bowls. I’m here to answer questions about sound healing, working as a practitioner and bringing healing vibrations into your life.

💫 Book a mentorship session on the workshop page of the I Know This Girl website: https://www.iknowthisgirl.co.uk/singing-bowl-workshop

🎶 I Know This Girl started as a crystal singing bowl shop. We stock high-quality, handmade crystal singing bowls of different notes and sizes, both individually and in sets, along with accessories including o-rings, mallets and travel bags.

To find your aligned singing bowl match, read our free guide to choosing crystal singing bowls and then book a consultation with our expert team. You can either book an online call or an in-person consultation at one of our three showrooms in Bristol, Surrey and Hampshire.

At I Know This Girl HQ in Bristol, you can also book a foundation workshop to learn more about crystal singing bowls and how to play them, and a mentorship session to build your confidence and connection to the bowls.

💕 To accompany your crystal singing bowls, we have our sound, ceremony and sleep collections. These are items that complement sound baths and at-home wellness practices. From chimes to incense to a specially designed sound practitioner cushion, explore expanding your practice.

📍 Finally, through I Know This Girl, you can find sound healing events. Check the events page for events hosted by me (Kate, the founder), usually in Bristol and go to our Trusted Practitioner Directory for events across the country hosted by practitioners in our community.

Yes, sound baths are so relaxing that you might fall asleep! 💤

This is totally normal because what happens to the brain during a sound bath is the same as when you are winding down for sleep.

Your brain waves change from being alert (beta waves) to the slower waves of relaxation (alpha) to the even slower waves of sleep (theta) and then deep sleep (delta).

🎶 This happens because of the sound waves from the crystal singing bowls. Your brain waves synchronise with them, allowing you to relax without even trying.

You might fall asleep for most of the session. Or you might drift in and out of consciousness as you experience the different frequencies of crystal singing bowls.

Whether you are feeling really alert or super sleepy, you’ll benefit from the sound bath because the body absorbs the vibrations. You don’t need to be paying attention for your brain and body to respond.

💫 Everyone responds differently because we each have a unique frequency. I explain more about this and share other examples of how we can respond to healing vibrations in the new blog on the I Know This Girl website.

What will you bring to the next sound bath you host? I have a few recommendations…

Over the years, I’ve enjoyed experimenting with different accessories and rituals to create sound baths that feel aligned with me and provide a supportive environment for participants. Here are a few things to try.

💫 For sitting comfortably throughout the session, bring our new sound meditation cushion. I designed this for sound practitioners, ensuring it adapts to your movement as you lean forward to play the bowls. It’s the most supportive cushion I’ve ever tried.

💫 Add dimension to your soundscape by using chimes and shakers alongside your singing bowls. They add grounding, softness and variation. Chimes are great for bringing people back to alertness at the end of a relaxing session.

💫 Create a multi-sensory experience by burning incense or Palo Santo during your sound bath. I have dishes for both in the I Know This Girl shop. These are handmade artisanal pieces with a subtle speckled glaze that aligns with the gentle balance of your session.

💫 If you would like to provide or recommend eye masks to aid participants in reaching relaxation and immersing themselves in the experience, we have a gorgeous cotton mask in the shop too. It comes with a travel bag so it’s perfect for sound baths.

The only waves are the sound waves! 🎶

If you’ve never been to a sound bath before and are curious about what the experience is like, here’s what to expect.

It will probably take place at a studio or community hall where there is space to lay out several yoga mats. During the session, you will sit or lie down on a mat. (You might need to bring one or the host might provide one, double check.)

At the start of the session, you’ll be asked to set an intention. This could be something simple like to relax or it could be focused on manifesting your goals. Whatever you put forward will be amplified by the vibrations of quartz crystal singing bowls.

Then the practitioner will take you through a soundscape by playing crystal singing bowls and potentially other instruments like shakers, chimes and pyramids. They might also weave in other wellbeing practices like breathwork and mindful movement. It depends on the practitioner and the session they have curated.

Cosy socks, a blanket and an eye mask (check out the IKTG shop for the latter) all help with easing into relaxation and immersing yourself in the session. You don’t have to do anything specific to be supported by the sound waves. Just let it flow.

✨ I’m hosting a sound bath on Sunday alongside an ecstatic dance facilitator if you’d like to try it out. The tickets are linked in my bio.

✨ There you will also find our new guide to choosing crystal singing bowls if you’re interested in playing them yourself.

I first discovered crystal singing bowls about 9 years ago now. It started with my very first sound bath when the healing vibrations quietened my busy mind like nothing else could. Then I wanted to find out everything I could about crystal singing bowls.

So I know it can be overwhelming at first. When choosing which crystal singing bowls to start with, you need to think about the notes, sizes, and how you respond and connect with the bowls.

Since starting I Know This Girl, I have supported many beginners in choosing their first bowls and expanding their collections and I love getting to be part of their sound healing journey. If you’re thinking about starting your own collection, this is what I’d recommend you do next.

🎶 Browse the I Know This Girl shop, specifically looking at the sets, as these give you an idea of what to include in a harmonised starter set.

🎶 Listen to the sound library and let yourself be drawn to the notes that you innately connect to. Write down the bowls that stand out to you.

🎶 Download our new guide ‘How to Choose Crystal Singing Bowls’. This outlines what to think about when making your decision.

🎶 Book an online discovery call or an in-person consultation in one of our three locations for personalised guidance on the bowls that will work for you.

You can find all these links in my bio. We can’t wait to chat with you about finding your first crystal singing bowls!

Have you ever tried this?

If you play a crystal singing bowl for a group of people and ask them to close their eyes and place their hands wherever they feel the vibrations, you’ll find that everyone receives the bowls differently.

Some might feel it in their heart. Others in their solar plexus and so on. The same note has a different effect for each person because we all have a unique frequency.

So, if you want to be able to work on each of the chakras, you don’t need to get all 7 bowls. What has the biggest influence on how bowls are received is the intention and energy behind them.

The energy you bring to the session as the player sets the tone. So does the harmony of the bowls you are playing. Choose a set that creates a soothing sound.

Then, if both you and the receiver set the intention to work on a specific chakra or goal, whatever bowls you are using will be able to carry out the intention. It’s magical!

✨ If you are just starting to learn about crystal singing bowls and how to use them, you’ll find the new blog on the I Know This Girl website useful. It answers some of the most common beginner FAQs. https://www.iknowthisgirl.co.uk/blog

Prepare for a cacao ceremony. 💕

Since the new launches, we have added some beautiful ceramic pieces to the I Know This Girl shop, handmade by Fairtrade artisans in Nepal. These include an incense holder, a Palo Santo dish and a cacao mug.

I’m really proud of the design of the cacao mug. During the sampling process, we refined it a couple of times so it fits comfortably in your hand during the cacao ceremony. The thumbprint serves as a point of pause and connection to the warmth, scent and sensations of this heart-opening ritual.

A cacao mug is nothing without cacao. So, I have partnered with a high-quality, ethical cacao supplier, ReNurture. Founded by Ruth, who has a passion for sacred nourishment, her cacao is ceremonial grade, honouring this ancient tradition. Ruth has kindly given the I Know This Girl community a discount code.
