“We are incredibly excited to be starting the construction phase for our new St Paul’s Outpatients Centre and delivering a world class facility in the City of London.” Emma Osborn, Capital Projects Lead

Hosted by our Capital Projects team, we recently held an opening morning at our new St Paul’s Outpatient Centre team. Attendees were able to learn about the patient-centred floor plan and services that will be available.

Emma Osborn said: “We’re working with clinical and operational teams across HCA UK to refine the design and ensure the Centre meets the highest standards of quality, functionality and patient care.”

The new St Paul’s Outpatients Centre represents £17million investment to expand our network. Located directly next to St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Stock Exchange, the centre will open in early 2027 and provide private GP appointments, health screening and advanced, specialist care and diagnostics.

The St Paul’s Outpatient Centre is being developed in collaboration with Ark Build PLC, MESH, LSI Architects, Couch Perry Wilkes, The Richard Stephens Partnership and Fairhurst.

London Bridge Hospital is proud to have reached a significant milestone in robotic surgery with its 6,000th robotic procedure completed using the da Vinci surgical system.

This milestone in robotic surgery highlights our continued leadership in complex, minimally-invasive surgery and reflects our patient-centred approach to care. Performed by Consultant Gynaecologist, Miss Alexandra Lawrence, the milestone case was undertaken on a complex ovarian cyst. She said:

“It is wonderful to be able to offer robotic surgery at London Bridge Hospital, shortening the hospital stay for women and speeding up their return to normal activities after surgery for complex gynaecological conditions.”

The da Vinci surgical system provides surgeons with intricate control and exceptional accuracy which means patient can expect to return home faster, with less pain and more mobility.

We are proud to be one of only a handful of hospitals in the UK to be able to offer patients access to Amyloid-targeting therapies, that have been found to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease in people with mild cognitive impairment or mild Alzheimer’s disease.

Amyloid-targeting therapies work by targeting a protein in the brain called amyloid beta, an important protein involved in the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. By triggering your immune system to remove amyloid beta, amyloid-targeting therapies can help slow the progression of the disease.

Both Lecanemab and Donanemad have been tested in large clinical trials to understand their safety and efficacy in patients with early Alzheimer’s disease. After 18 months of treatment, amyloid-targeting therapies slowed the rate of disease progression by up to nearly one third.
