On Monday had the privilege of conducting the Funeral of Arthur Carpenter of Mildenhall. Arthur served for 20 years at Mildenhall Fire Station during the 70's & 80's and on Monday he was escorted by a 1960' Comer Fire Engine from the Station to his final resting place at Mildenhall Cemetery.
The site of the Comer Fire Engine leaving the station is something that hasn't been seen since the late 1960's.
This is the second funeral of an ex Mildenhall Fireman in the last few days.
Eddie Butcher & Arthur Carpenter who both served together at Mildenhall and also both worked for G R Peachey and Son.
So it was a privilege to lead them both out of the station.

May they both rest in peace.

On Friday we had the privilege of conducting the funeral service of Eddie Butcher of Mildenhall.
Eddie was part of our team at G R Peachey and Son for many years and was also a Fireman at Mildenhall for many years.
It was an honour to lead his funeral procession from Mildenhall Fire Station onto the Crematorium.
Eddie had a love of classic cars especially Minnie's and MG's and it was lovely to see his escorted by some classics.

Thank you to Mildenhall Fire Station for facilitating Eddie's final turnout and Bury Mini Club for arranging the lovely cars.
It was was an emotional day for me and all the team as we have known and worked with Eddie for many years, but I think he would have approved.
