🌿 A little reminder that self-care doesn't always mean doing nothing.

Today is a study day for me, with a desk, notebook, laptop and hopefully a little coffee with a friend if my mouth is feeling up to it! β˜•πŸ˜‚

But after having a tooth extracted this week, I'm also being reminded that sometimes we need to be flexible with our plans..

Perhaps the studying will happen.

Perhaps the coffee will happen.

Or perhaps I'll need a little more rest.

And that's okay too.

I think sometimes we can put pressure on ourselves to make the most of every day.

To be productive.

To tick things off.

To stick to the plan.

But wellbeing isn't always about having the perfect routine.

Sometimes it's about asking:

What do I realistically have the energy for today?

And being okay with the answer.

So today, I'll be studying where I can, resting where I need to and seeing how the day unfolds.

No gold stars for pushing through.

No guilt if I need to slow down.

Just a little flexibility and kindness to myself.

And perhaps coffee. πŸ€žπŸ˜‚β˜•

πŸ’œ Take a moment. Just for yourself.

Sometimes self-care isn't glamorous.

This afternoon I had a tooth extracted, so instead of carrying on with my plans, I'm taking the afternoon off.

Resting.

Relaxing.

And listening to what my body needs.

It feels quite fitting after everything I've been thinking and writing about recently.

We often talk about self-care as something lovely that we choose to do.

A spa day.

A treatment.

A walk.

Coffee with a friend.

But sometimes self-care is much less exciting.

Sometimes it's cancelling plans.

Resting when you'd rather be getting things done.

Eating something soft for tea. πŸ˜‚

And accepting that your body has made the decision for you that today is a day to slow down!

So that's exactly what I'm doing.

The emails can wait.

The washing can wait.

The to-do list will still be there tomorrow.

Today, I'm taking a little Francespa Pause of my own. πŸ’œ

I hope you're finding a little space to look after yourself this week too.

Shhhh… I am the first up 🀫

A quiet cuppa in a quiet house 😌 Is there anything better??!!! Well maybe but it’s definitely on the list of perfect ways to start the day…

I am off to Ascot for a spa weekend with family today - 50th celebrations continue πŸŽ‰

But for now just this and a cool
Autumnal morning.

🌊 I've been thinking a lot about how we hold onto that holiday feeling when real life gets busy again...

After two wonderful weeks away in the campervan, I came home feeling rested, relaxed, tanned, windswept and very much soothed by the sea.

And then came the washing. πŸ˜‚

The diary filling up.

The return to work.

The everyday jobs.

Real life.

My first week back has been busy, but I've been trying not to lose that feeling of slowing down quite so quickly.

I've been thinking about how we make space for ourselves even when life isn't quiet.

This week included returning to work, donating blood and spending time with my Dad on what would have been my Mum's birthday.

Tomorrow, I'm also heading away for a spa weekend with family as we continue celebrating my 50th birthday. πŸ’œ

Life can be busy.

Life can be joyful.

Life can also be emotional.

And sometimes all of those things can exist at the same time.

My latest blog is a reflection on rest, self-care, grief, joy and learning to make space for the things that matterβ€”even when life feels busy.

One thing I've realised?

πŸ’œ Rest isn't just for holidays.

πŸ’œ We don't have to wait until we're exhausted to take care of ourselves.

πŸ’œ Sometimes self-care is simply asking, "What do I need today?"

If this sounds like something you need to hear right now, you can read my latest blog here:

I'd genuinely love to know...

What is one thing you're trying to make more space for in your life at the moment? πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ Hi to any recent new followers β€” and hello again to those of you who have been here for a while! πŸ‘‹

I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself properly.

I'm Francesca, and I run Francespa Reflexology, offering relaxing wellbeing treatments for women in and around Newbury, Thatcham and the surrounding West Berkshire villages.

After a lovely couple of weeks away in our campervan, I'm now back feeling refreshed, relaxed and reminded just how important it is to occasionally step away from the busyness of everyday life. 🚐🌊

And that's very much at the heart of what I offer.

So many of us spend our days looking after everyone else, juggling work, family, homes, caring responsibilities and everything else that life throws at us.

Sometimes we all need a little reminder that our own wellbeing matters too. πŸ’œ

At Francespa, I offer:

🌿 Reflexology
πŸ’œ Reflexology for Menopause
🌿 Aromareflex
πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ Indian Head Massage
🌸 Relaxing Tropic Facials

My aim is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can simply press pause, switch off from the outside world and take some time for yourself.

If you've been meaning to prioritise a little more self-care as we move into autumn, you're very welcome to have a look at what I offer.

πŸ‘‰ You can find more information and book online via my website: https://www.francespareflexology.co.uk

And please do say hello in the comments! πŸ‘‹

I'd love to know...

What's one thing you enjoy doing to relax and reset? πŸ’œ

πŸ’Œ My September newsletter is on its way...

If you're already subscribed to my newsletter, have a little look in your inbox today. πŸ’œ

This month's newsletter is a slightly more personal one as I'm sharing a little about our recent campervan adventures. 🚐🌊

After completely switching off for a few weeks, I've come home feeling tanned, windswept, relaxed and very much soothed by the sea!

I've also been sharing some of our favourite places, including beautiful National Trust properties, beaches, coastal walks, villages and a couple of campsites we would happily return to.

But more than anything, this month's newsletter is about something I've been thinking about since coming home...

How do we hold onto a little bit of that holiday feeling as summer comes to an end and September begins?

We don't all have the luxury of disappearing to the coast for two weeks, but perhaps we can still take some of that slower pace into everyday life.

A little more time outside.

A few more walks.

A book.

A cup of tea without multitasking.

A treatment.

A moment to simply pause. πŸ’œ

If you're not already on my newsletter list, you can sign up via the link in my bio so you don't miss future updates, wellbeing thoughts and a little bit of life behind Francespa.

And if you are subscribed...

Check your inbox! πŸ’Œ

Let me know what you think of this month's newsletter. I'd love to know whether you'd like me to share more of our campervan adventures in future too! πŸšπŸ’œ
