I’m a guest on a podcast next week and thinking about “my story” here made me reflect on my journey here.

There’s a lot of new faces - welcome! Maybe it encourages someone (you?) reading this today.

Remember you can look different start late.. make mistakes and start over. You can try and fail. And yes you can still succeed.

After decades in the NHS my last role setting up a service for women with secondary breast cancer had taken its toll. I was tired on the inside. And after lots of conversations about moving back to Cornwall to be near my mum, we made the leap…and that’s the story for another day.

I knew I still had so much to give but I didn’t know how it would look or be, or feel at that point, I just knew I had I was going to do it.

I found someone who believed in me & it’s everything I teach other women today. I made my first vision board too. Better late than never!

6 years later I’m still here! I’ve now created online workshops, courses and Retreats. My free newsletter The Club is something I am so happy to be able to do each week for hundreds and hundreds of women who tell me they wait for it to drop and read it drinking their coffee on a Friday morning. All in my 60’s 🙌🏼

If it’s possible for me then it is for you too.

Ps everything & more came true on my vision board!

📍Save for a day you may need to remind yourself it’s not too late

When women come together incredible things happen.

From some of the women I work with, to subscribers and yes you lovely followers tell me you feel lonely & disconnected as the kids no longer need you. You may be isolated in caring roles or the jobs that no longer hold meaning and take too much of your precious time.

But do you know that all over the world women like you want to make friends with other women like you.

I know it’s not easy to make connections and friends in this phase of our lives, but it is definitely so possible. Some of you know my story. I didn’t know any of these women above just a few years ago.

Feeling socially connected is so important for our health and wellbeing as studies show that loneliness can be so detrimental.

So where do you begin?

Look at local groups. I’ve made so many new friends playing pickleball & I meet with other women every morning in our local to go in the sea.

Perhaps you want to volunteer or do something for charity? You will meet someone there who has the same values as you.

There are other women who have the same hobbies, interests or activities as you. From book clubs to choirs to crafting to coldwater swims…there are so many things to connect you with other like-minded people.

Fun fact I once tried ukulele, but I was totally s**t 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 but it was hilarious and we had such a laugh.

One small decision could change the whole trajectory of your life be brave go for it 👭

What do you think?
If you found me I’d love you to hang around 🫶🏼❤️

This changed everything for me. I can’t say it strongly enough that your relationship with you is the key to all the others. Become more aware of how you talk to yourself & know your worth. Then add tax 🙌🏼

My top eight self-love reminders or how to build a better relationship with you

💘Set boundaries. Learn how to say no to commitments or people that drain your energy or self-worth

💘 Positive self talk. Challenge those limiting, unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back. Thoughts are not facts!

💘 Stop taking things so personally when someone criticises you or is distant..remember it’s not about you. You’ll never be judged by someone doing more than you only doing less.

💘 Learn how to let go of the past. when you can heal what you feel about your past - you can make room for your future.

💘 Take time to do something you love. You matter too so give yourself the same love care & attention you give to others.

💘 It’s not too late! You can’t be behind in the timeline of your own life.

💘 Say goodbye to trying to be or make everything perfect. Self-acceptance is key.

💘 Forgive yourself. Sometimes we humans mess up right? But you did the best you could with what you had at the time.

Which one calls to you right now?

Behind every client breakthrough and transformation is a conversation they have been avoiding. I learned this too a few years ago when I had to ask myself some uncomfortable but necessary questions. I knew I needed to grow & evolve but it felt so scary.

Perhaps the most powerful conversation you’ve been putting off is the most important you need to have with you.

Reaching this midlife and beyond stage of life can ask some difficult questions of you. Perhaps you feel stuck. Maybe at a crossroads?

The truth is already there. Sometimes it’s just buried beneath trying to keep everything smooth for everybody else. “Don’t rock the boat…don’t make a fuss” & other “be a good girl” conditioning we older women can still carry.

We can lose sight of who we are after so many years of caring for others & maybe you’re not even sure what you want anymore.

The job, the friendships, the relationship…the lifestyle. Is there something you’ve outgrown but it’s safe & familiar? This is your permission slip - you are allowed to change your mind!

If not now then when?

Save this for when you need a reset on your life.

The word I can’t stop thinking about.
For the last few years I’ve been leaning more into embracing age & being comfortable with being me. I’ve added the word delusional into my self talk and my life has expanded in so many ways I could not have dreamed of in this chapter of my life.

Your negative-biased brain will tell you to stay safe where you are. Change is scary over there. Your brain wants to keep you safe in that uncomfortable comfort zone that is so familiar. But your brain doesn’t know how to make you happy. That’s your job!

What if it all worked out? What if it went even better than you could have imagined?! Try practising that positive thought instead of all the things that could go wrong.
Say yes to life when you can because the dream is to be alive after all.

You are still here.

So many women tell me they’ve begun to feel invisible in this stage of our lives as hormones seem to dictate how we look & feel on any given day. Perhaps you don’t feel as
“necessary” as you once did?

So this is a small shout out if that is you right now.
Age is literally a number so don’t shrink to fit in where you don’t belong any more. It’s not too late for you please know that.
If you’re reading this you woke up today and every day is an opportunity to begin again...to start something new or let something go. Let’s get delusional in our ways of thinking & being.

Not sure where to start? Always find the time to do the things that make you feel alive. The rest will follow.

Ready to get delusional?! Come with me 🙋🏼‍♀️

Maybe you don’t know me (yet) but these are a few things to expect.

Hi I’m Tracy 🙋🏼‍♀️Like most women when I hit perimenopause life felt like it began to shrink with each symptom.

I started to dread those years passing by and what getting older would look like for me .

But over the last few years we made a big move back to Cornwall & I retired from my cancer nursing career. Who would have known…it’s not too late to change at any age as & (accidentally?!) became a small biz owner as a women’s life coach specifically for women in midlife and beyond.

Actually when I began to accept & yes embrace getting older life began to open up in new ways.

It turns out there’s a lot of us that need inspiration & role models and a belief that it’s not too late. So if you’re new here welcome…& here’s to seeing you in new ways too 🫶🏼💕

Life lately from my little corner of the internet..

Early morning light sets your circadian rhythms and helps improve sleep. It’s something I always try to do.

Yesteryear, love it or hate it I’m afraid it was a bit of a slog for me.

Little Rosie & my DIL to be 🫶🏼

The women. We meet we chat we get the sea and then we go back to our days.

Me, shouting “someone has offered to take a photo” !!

Betsy thankfully getting back to normal. On top of her spay operation she had a dreaded grass seed in her paw which laid her low poor little love.

There had to be some serious shopping with the hen and a wedding coming up. I haven’t even been in a Marks & Spencer’s store for months. I was like a kid in a sweet shop just fun to look 🙅🏼‍♀️

Wake up early. Get in the sea. Repeat

Not young & hot but definitely aiming for old and cool!

A lovely message that meant so much 🫶🏼

We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.

Little moments that become the bigger ones…what do you think?

I’m so lucky to live by the sea. We couldn’t do without the especially as the sea gets so busy here in the summer.

I was invited on a PR trip with the RNLI to raise awareness about how to float if you get into difficulty in the water, & I was so happy to be a part of it. This was to coincide with world drowning prevention day on the 25th of July.

The gorgeous sadly lost her brother to drowning a few years ago. She bravely told us all her story. He was young fit and had a healthy respect for the water as a marine engineer. It brought it home to us when we heard her speak how the water does not discriminate.

We spent time in the pool with all kinds of exercises & simulations but essentially it was to highlight how the simple skill of floating can help to save lives.

How to find your float:

1. Tilt your head back with your ears submerged.
2. Try to relax to control your breathing.
3. Move your hands gently to help you stay afloat.
4. If your legs sink a little we all float differently
5. When your breathing feels steady call for help or swim to safety

Practice floating you could save someone’s life. Anyone can drown but no one should.

We’re sold a story of how life is somehow less than as we age but I want you to know that is just not true. I’ve had some of my happiest days in this chapter of my life.

From wild swims to Wimbledon and of course the football too and then a PR invite to be part of the RNLI campaign which I’ve talked about in my newsletter of course this week. I’ve got a reel coming soon about this very important topic of raising awareness of how to float can actually save lives. I was so proud to be a small part of it.

Swimming across that pool in all of the gear thinking I was surely going to sink like a stone is something I’ll never forget! It’s good to step outside of our comfort zone because that’s how we grow.

It’s been a week! I’m so grateful to be here & from the smallest moments to the big unforgettable ones I am so grateful for everything.

Remember age is only a number & it’s never too late to build a life you love….& ps COME ON ENGLAND!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
