We are hosting a vaccination open day on Saturday 3rd October 2026 at ALL of our branches with prebooked appointments available.

How to book:
- Pop into reception

- Follow the link if you've been sent one to book in yourself

If you are eligible, you will be able to receive the following:
- Flu vaccination
- COVID-19 vaccination
- RSV vaccination
- Shingles vaccination
- Pneumonoccal vaccination

🟡 Patient information: August Bank Holiday 🟡

ℹ️ Priory Medical Group will be closed for the bank holiday at the end of the month.

We will be closed all day on Monday 31st August and we will reopen on Tuesday 1st September at 8am.

💊 With this in mind, if you need your repeat medication, please request this in good time.
It takes 2 working days to process routine requests at the surgery and then each community pharmacy has their own waiting times.
(Don't forget, you can order 8 days before your prescription is due).

📲 For non-urgent medical advice when we are closed, please go to NHS 111 online or call 111.

🟣 We have a PPG and we would love you to join it! 🟣

❔️ What is a PPG?

PPG stands for Patient Participation Group. It is a small group of volunteers who are registered members of our GP practice.
In April 2015, it was made a contractual requirement of NHS England for GP practices to have a PPG and to ‘make reasonable efforts for this to be representative of the practice population’.
Although active for several years, our numbers have fallen so we are looking for more members to make our group more representative of the population and to give more patients a voice.

Our PPG gives patients the opportunity to:
✅ Share constructive feedback and ideas.
✅ Help shape future NHS services.
✅ Discuss ways to improve patient experience.
✅ Support health promotion within our community.

Whether you can attend meetings regularly (there are only 4 - 5 a year) or simply want to share your views occasionally, we’d love to hear from you!

💻 - We are also looking to create a new online PPG meeting group too if this would interest you!

🗓 Please come along to our PPG open morning on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at The Linskill Centre. This is from 10am – 12pm, and is a drop in event.

💚 Patient Notice - Retirement Book 💚

💕 It has been incredibly heartwarming to read all your kind words of thanks and praise for Dr Ian Donkin upon his recent retirement.

📖 With this in mind, from today you will find retirement books in each of our branches. The main book will be based in our North Shields Branch, with the messages from Tynemouth and Hadrian Park being added in at a later date.
These will be available for patients to write personal messages in over the next month.
Just ask at reception if you would like to sign them.

📲 Can't make it to the practice?
All messages online will be printed out and added into the book for you.

Retirement Announcement:

After 25 years of dedicated service, Dr Donkin has now retired from the practice. He will be missed by staff and patients alike. We would like to thank him for his years of dedication and compassionate care and wish him a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.

​Due to unforeseen IT issues, our Tynemouth branch will now be closed for the rest of today.

​If you have an appointment scheduled with us today at the Tynemouth branch:

- ​Your appointment will be moved and rearranged as soon as possible.
- ​Please do not travel to the Tynemouth branch today.

💉 Introducing PMG's Mass Vaccination Day! 💉

🗓 Taking place on Saturday 3rd October 2026 between 9am and 3pm at all 3 of our surgeries; North Shields, Tynemouth and Hadrian Park.

Patients can come along to their surgery of choice to receive their vaccinations.

📲 Eligible patients will receive booking links, but if you are a patient of ours and eligible you can call to book in now on 01912 570 223.

💉 Vaccinations available to book with ourselves include the flu, covid, shingles, RSV and pneumoccocal vaccines.
