We don't always comment on celebrity deaths, but today's news of Anthony Head's passing brought back memories for many of us.

Long before Buffy, Merlin or Ted Lasso, he was one half of the unforgettable Gold Blend adverts that became part of 1980s television.

It's funny how adverts can do that, instantly transport us back to another time, another place, and remind us of people and moments we hold dear.

Memories matter.

They are the threads that connect our past to our present.

Rest in peace, Anthony Head. Thank you for the memories. ❤️

Scattering ashes is an ancient tradition, still prevalent today among those opting for cremation.
However, casting ashes into the wind can pose challenges, as airborne remains may blow back, even in a slight breeze.

Biodegradable urns and scatter tubes offer a solution, minimising such risks and providing a more dignified experience. When done correctly, scattering ashes can be a beautiful way to return the departed to nature.

We offer a selection of biodegradable urns. For information on the options available, give us a call.

We are currently caring for Mr Paul Galer, and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to his family for entrusting us with the care of their father.

His funeral service will take place at Breckland Crematorium on Monday 11th May. Please note that this will be a direct cremation, so no attendees are invited. The family will be holding a separate memorial service at Gissing Cemetery to remember and celebrate Paul’s life.

We at Rich -Gray Funerals Family Funeral Services are inviting the Norwich community to get talking about death, dying, and bereavement during this year’s Dying Matters Awareness Week (4–10 May 2026).

Dying Matters is Hospice UK’s flagship campaign. It aims to create an open culture that talks about death and where people feel able to listen and support people who are planning for end of life, those who are dying and bereaved people.

This Dying Matters Awareness Week is focusing on the importance of conversations about death and dying – with family, friends, employers, anyone in your life – helping people to get the conversation started.

For more information visit the Dying Matters website https://www.hospiceuk.org/our-campaigns/dying-matters

should anyone wish to call us for an informal chat regarding any aspect of the funeral process please do.
