🌟 Volunteers’ Week 2026 🌟

This week we celebrate and thank all volunteers who support our communities, improve wellbeing and make a real difference every day.

The NHS is supported by around 2 million volunteers each year and we are proud to recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make across County Durham and the North East.

Thank you for everything you do πŸ’™

🩺 Did you know?

Getting an accurate blood pressure reading is really important for your health. Small things like talking, crossing your legs, or drinking tea/coffee before your appointment can affect the result.

Here are a few simple tips before your blood pressure check:

βœ”οΈ Rest for 5 minutes beforehand
βœ”οΈ Avoid caffeine and exercise for 30 minutes before
βœ”οΈ Sit comfortably with your back supported and feet flat on the floor
βœ”οΈ Keep your arm supported at heart level
βœ”οΈ Try not to talk during the reading

These small steps help us give you the most accurate reading possible and support better heart health for our community ❀️
