Anxious - Avoidant Attachment is one of the most common relationship patterns.
At first, the anxious partner is attracted to the avoidant partner's calm confidence, while the avoidant partner loves the anxious partner's warmth and closeness.
But over time, things can change.
The anxious partner may seek reassurance when they feel distance. The avoidant partner may pull away when they feel overwhelmed.
The more one chases, the more the other withdraws, leaving both feeling frustrated, misunderstood, and disconnected.
The good news? This cycle can be changed. When both partners understand their patterns and take responsibility for their own reactions, healthier ways of connecting become possible.
Counselling can provide a safe, supportive space to help you break the cycle and strengthen your relationship.
