At the Hong Kong Football Club, parents and coaches came together for Positive Sports Parenting: Helping Young Athletes Thrive Without Overwhelm, part of the AMindset workshop series.

Slide by slide, we explored the questions that matter most:

How do the adults around young athletes shape confidence? How can pressure become either a source of growth or a quiet drain? What does healthy, sustainable participation in sport actually look like?

Through real-world scenarios and honest conversation, we examined communication patterns, touchline behaviour, the weight of expectations, and what it means to carry that responsibility well.

Everyone in the room brought something genuine. The energy, openness and willingness to reflect made for a conversation worth remembering.

What if the biggest barrier to helping someone with schizophrenia isn't the condition itself, but what we think we know about it?

Schizophrenia is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions. Popular media often paints a frightening and inaccurate picture, leaving many people feeling judged, isolated, or afraid to seek help. In reality, the signs can be subtle: withdrawing from loved ones, struggling to distinguish thoughts from reality, or finding everyday tasks increasingly difficult to manage.

Understanding the facts can change lives.

Our latest article explores what schizophrenia really is, what causes it, the symptoms to look out for, and the evidence-based treatments that can help people live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Most importantly, it highlights why early recognition and compassionate support matter so much.

Take a few minutes to challenge the myths and deepen your understanding. Someone you care about may need that knowledge more than you realise.

Not to change it.
Just to listen.

We spend so much time living in our heads that we forget our bodies are carrying the weight of our stress, emotions, and daily demands.

Today's Meditation on Body is a gentle invitation to pause, reconnect, and notice what your body may be trying to tell you.

The advocates. The legal teams. The humanitarian workers.

Your cognitive capacity is the foundation of everything you do, and it deserves the same attention you give your work.

Burnout is not a personal failure. It is what happens when high-pressure roles are sustained without the right tools to protect the mind behind them.

Join Elise and Jacqueline on June 17 for a focused, evidence-informed Zoom session on Maintaining Cognitive Vitality, in collaboration with Equal Justice (平義社). Practical strategies. Real tools. Built for professionals who cannot afford to run on empty.

This session is for the professionals who keep showing up even when they are running low. Show up for yourself this time. www.amindset.hk

Trust is built long before a client enters the therapy room.

For mental health professionals, professional insurance is more than protection. It reflects accountability, ethical practice, and a commitment to client wellbeing.

At AMindset, we support the standards championed by GBPCA in helping practitioners build safer, stronger, and more trusted practices.

If your body could speak, what would it ask you to release?

The worry you've replayed a hundred times?
The pressure to always be strong?
The guilt of resting when you're tired?

Healing White Light is an invitation to set those burdens down, even if only for a little while.

Close your eyes.
Picture a soft white light surrounding you—not as something outside of you, but as a reminder of the strength, compassion, and healing that already exist within.

You do not need to earn rest.
You do not need permission to heal.

You only need to begin.

Every moment feels like a demand for progress, and stopping even for a second brings a wave of guilt. That inner voice saying "I’m not good enough" acts like an invisible weight, keeping you stuck even when you want to move forward.

The heavy pressure in your chest is a burden that is often difficult to explain to friends. My name is Cindy, and I offer professional support through private sessions at my practice in Central. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help you trace the roots of these self-critical patterns and process the hidden emotions behind them. Together, we can work toward true self-acceptance, allowing you to face the world with a lighter and more relaxed perspective.

You do not have to carry this pressure alone. Please visit the link below to book a consultation:

You’re not lazy. You’re overloaded.

Sometimes the real exhaustion isn’t physical, it’s the constant mental tabs left open in your mind. The overthinking, decision fatigue, emotional labour, and pressure to keep functioning like everything’s fine.

This article explores the cognitive overload no one talks about — and why so many people feel drained even after “resting”.
