Teaching better behavior isn’t about stopping challenging behaviors, it’s about giving children the skills they need to succeed.
Every behavior serves a purpose. Instead of simply saying “don’t do that,” we teach children what they can do instead. This might include asking for help, requesting a break, communicating their needs, waiting patiently, or expressing emotions in a safe and appropriate way.
When children learn a replacement behavior that meets the same need, they’re more likely to use it in the future, leading to lasting, meaningful change.
At Building Bridges, we focus on building skills, confidence, and independence through positive, evidence-based ABA strategies.
