Depression isn’t a motivation problem — it’s a loop. The less you do, the worse you feel, and the worse you feel, the less you do. Real treatment interrupts that loop on purpose: through action, through noticing distorted thinking, and through reconnecting with people. Not through venting alone.

If this resonates, we’d love to work with you. 💛

Ever feel like you’ve completely checked out when things get stressful — only to have others praise you for being so calm?

That stillness isn’t always composure; it’s often a freeze response. It’s a nervous system survival mechanism that’s just as real as fight or flight, but it often gets mistaken for being “low-key” or “good under pressure.”

If you’ve been carrying the weight of that disconnect, please know: you don’t have to keep performing. You don’t have to pretend like you’re fine. You don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to help you find your way back to feeling present and safe.

Stop pushing against the brick wall.

When intrusive or obsessive thoughts take over, our natural instinct is to fight back. We try to distract ourselves, replace bad thoughts with good ones, or endlessly analyze what those thoughts “mean” about us.

Pushing against a thought is like trying to push down a solid brick wall. You burn all your mental and physical energy, but the wall stays right where it is.

Healing isn’t about making unwanted thoughts disappear forever; it’s about changing your relationship with them. When you stop fighting the thoughts, they lose their ability to control your actions and dictate your day.

💬 Ready to change your relationship with your mind?
At ChangeWell Psych, we help you build evidence-based tools to navigate intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and overthinking with confidence.

July is BIPOC Mental Health Month!

Mental health care should never require someone to leave their identity, culture, or lived experiences at the door. This month is a reminder that healing is strongest when people feel seen, heard, and supported for who they are. Culturally affirming, trauma-informed care isn’t an added benefit; it’s an essential part of quality mental health care.

This year’s theme, “More Good Days Together,” invites us to create spaces where honest conversations can happen, where communities can thrive, and where support is rooted in compassion, connection, and belonging. Every person deserves access to care that honors their story, strengths, and values.

At ChangeWell Psych, we believe healing happens in relationships built on trust, respect, and cultural humility. Whether you’re looking for a therapist who understands your experiences or you’re a clinician seeking culturally responsive consultation and support, we’re here to help.

✨ If this message resonates with you, save this post, share it with someone who may need it, and help us continue the conversation about equitable mental health care.

The human experience is filled with many wonderful and meaningful moments — but it also includes its fair share of challenges, especially in today’s world. For many individuals, this can manifest as persistent fatigue and low energy that can significantly impact daily functioning.

Depression is a complex condition that exists on a spectrum. Many people present with outward behaviors that don’t necessarily match what they’re feeling on the inside — maintaining professional responsibilities and social obligations while experiencing a profound internal sense of depletion. Carrying this emotional burden while appearing effective in daily life is a common clinical presentation of depressive disorders.

Whether you are experiencing difficulty with morning activation, or feel you are simply “going through the motions“ with chronic lethargy, these symptoms are clinically significant. You do not need to reach a state of complete burnout to be eligible for evidence-based, compassionate, psychological care.

At ChangeWell Psych, our team provides professional support for those struggling with low energy and depressive symptoms. We offer a safe, inclusive environment, and provide virtual sessions to ensure accessibility for our clients.

If you are in need of some support, know that you are worthy of care and that we’re here for you. Reach out to us today by clicking the link in our bio to learn more about our depression therapy services or to schedule an appointment.
