During Su***de Prevention Month, weโ€™re reminded that sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply show up and start a conversation. ๐Ÿ’™

Asking someone, โ€œAre you okay?โ€ can open the door to a conversation that may matter more than we realize. Listening, staying present, taking concerns seriously, and helping someone connect with support can make a meaningful difference.

You donโ€™t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to listen and help someone take the next step.

Swipe through for ways you can support someone who may be struggling, signs that someone might need extra support, and crisis resources.

๐Ÿ’™ August was all about connection, confidence, and supporting families through change.

๐ŸŽ’ As families prepared for a new school year, we shared practical Back-to-School Tips to help children and caregivers build routines, support emotional wellness, and navigate the transition with confidence.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ We also encouraged families to make time for meaningful conversations and connection through simple family check-ins, creating space to listen, share, and support one another.

โœจ This month, we also celebrated our Co-Founder and Executive Director, Gwen Harris, and the leadership, compassion, and dedication she brings to The FACTS Initiative. Through her clinical training, military service, and commitment to serving others, Gwen continues to help strengthen our mission and ensure families receive the care and support they deserve.

๐ŸŒฑ Finally, we shared Maya's Client Success Story, highlighting how individual support, family education, and connection with peers helped her better understand her emotions, communicate her needs, and build confidence during a time of significant transition.

Stories like Maya's remind us why compassionate, trauma-informed support matters.

Thank you for being part of the FACTS family and for helping us support children and families through resources that encourage connection, confidence, and wellness. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ’๐Ÿ’™ Back to School, Big Feelings

A new school year can bring excitement and new opportunities, but it can also come with nerves, stress, and uncertainty. Supporting your child's mental well-being starts with letting them know that whatever they're feeling, they don't have to navigate it alone. ๐ŸŒฑ

Here are 5 simple ways to support your child as they head back to school:

๐Ÿ’ฌ Normalize their feelings โ€” Let them know it's okay to feel nervous, excited, or overwhelmed.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Create routines โ€” Consistent routines can help make big transitions feel more manageable.

โค๏ธ Check in daily โ€” Make space to ask how their day went and really listen.

๐ŸŒŸ Celebrate small things โ€” Recognize their effort, progress, and little wins along the way.

๐Ÿค Remember that support is strength โ€” Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Back-to-school is a transition for the whole family. A little patience, connection, and encouragement can go a long way. ๐Ÿ’™

โ˜€๏ธ Fill Your Cup This Summer ๐Ÿ’™

Self-care isn't about doing everything perfectly. It's about making time for the little things that help you feel grounded, refreshed, and connected.

This week, challenge yourself to fill your cup by trying one (or more!) of these simple practices:

๐Ÿง˜ Meditate for a few minutes
๐Ÿ“– Write in a journal
๐ŸŒฟ Get some fresh air
๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrate the little things
๐Ÿ˜Š Make time for joy
๐Ÿšถ Go for a walk
๐ŸŽจ Develop your hobbies

Remember, caring for your mental health is an investment in yourself. Small, consistent moments of self-care can help reduce stress, improve resilience, and bring more balance to your day.

โœจ Which tip are you going to try this week? Tell us in the comments below!
