Bubble play is more than just fun — it’s a great way to build communication! 🫧

You do not need flashcards to help your child practice language. Everyday play can create the best opportunities.

Try this during your next bubble activity:

• Pause on purpose before blowing the bubbles
• Say, “Ready… set…” and then wait
• Watch for any response — eye contact, reaching, sounds, gestures, or words
• Accept any communication as meaningful
• Model simple words like “go,” “more bubbles,” or “pop”
• Keep it playful and pressure-free

That little pause gives your child a chance to communicate in their own way.

Small changes during play can lead to big communication moments. 💛

You don’t need a different activity for every speech or language goal 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

One simple play moment can support SO many communication skills when we model with intention.

Spring themed to play like water, dirt, flowers, bubbles, bugs, or books can be used to model:

🌺 single word
🌺 short phrases
🌺 sounds
🌺 gestures
🌺 AAC
🌺 turn-taking
🌺 commenting
🌺 requesting
🌺 shared attention

The goal isn’t to make play complicated, it’s to make communication, feel natural, meaningful, and connected. Remember.: Communication is more than words. Gestures, sounds, spoken words and AAC all count.
