Today's is Jose Gongora, an Electronic Mechanic at the Dallas VA.
With 8 years of service under his belt, Jose brings a deeply personal motivation to his role, following his 5-year service in the Marine Corps as a Communications Maintenance Technician. During his time in the Marines, Jose was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 2012-2013 in the Kandahar region.
Jose shares a captivating snippet from his journey, "I am slowly starting to work towards competing in strength competitions." This commitment to fitness not only adds a unique dimension to his professional expertise but also reflects his adventurous spirit and dedication to personal growth. As a Veteran himself, Jose feels a deep connection to the VA's mission. "As a Veteran, I feel more comfortable working at the VA. More than anywhere else," he explains.
