Construction has started on a new parking garage at the Dallas VAMC campus, with Lot 1 closed as of June 7, 2026. Veteran and accessible parking remain in Lot 1 and Lot 1B. Additional parking is available in Liberty and Freedom Parking Garages and overflow areas. Shuttle service runs from all parking areas, including overflow, so walking is unnecessary. Veterans should allow extra time during construction. Thank you for your patience as we improve the campus.

She says her experience has been “great” and attributes her enjoyment to the people she works with. Esperson’s connection to military service is personal; her father served in the Army and is now a Veteran. Today's is Dr. Denisse Silva, an Infection Prevention Physician at the Dallas VA.

Dr. Silva's dedication to serving Veterans is deeply personal, inspired by her father, a retired US Army Veteran. "My dad was a big part of why I work at the VA," she shares. "When you are working in a place that reminds you of home, you are home, and for me, nowhere feels more like home than the VA."

Dr. Silva's commitment to Veterans shines through in her critical role as an Infection Prevention Physician. Despite having only been with the VA for 4 years, her impact on Veteran care is already clear.
