Last week, Athlete EDGE at EDCare was proud to sponsor the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association Annual Clinical Symposium at Colorado College.

Athletic trainers play an important role in recognizing early warning signs when an athlete may be struggling with an eating disorder, disordered eating, or mental health concerns. Early awareness and support can make a meaningful difference in helping athletes access care.

It was a pleasure connecting with so many professionals throughout the event and continuing conversations focused on athlete health, education, and reducing stigma surrounding eating disorders in sport.

The way we speak about eating disorders can shape how supported someone feels. Words have the power to open the door to connection or create distance, even when intentions are good. Choosing language that centers care, curiosity, and respect can help someone feel safer and more understood.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage thoughtful communication that supports healing and connection. EDCare is here to help guide these conversations. Learn more at www.eatingdisorder.care

Thank you for joining EDCare at the Annual Mental Health KC Conference at Johnson County Community College.

This event created an important space to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and elevate conversations about well-being. It was wonderful connecting with attendees at our booth and sharing more about eating disorder recovery resources and the services we provide at EDCare Kansas City.

Mantras can be a way to gently ground yourself when things feel overwhelming. Returning to a steady, supportive thought can help create a sense of safety and self-trust, especially in moments of uncertainty. Healing is not linear, and it does not have to follow anyone else’s timeline.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, consider what words you can come back to when you need support. EDCare is here to walk alongside you in your recovery. Learn more at www.eatingdisorder.care
