We don’t think twice about turning our palm up or down… until it’s hard.

Opening a jar, turning a key, holding a fork, texting—so many everyday things rely on pronation and supination.

When that motion is limited, it’s not just the wrist or forearm—it’s your independence that takes a hit.

In rehab, getting that rotation back isn’t just about movement… it’s about helping people get back to their normal life.

Heel raises with a ball:

• Strengthens calf muscles
• Improves balance & stability
• Supports knee and ankle control.

Why do this exercise?

Because strong calves and stable ankles make everyday activities like walking and climbing stairs easier and safer.

Scapular clocks in quadruped are key for shoulder control + stability!

Think of your shoulder blade like a clock 🕒
• 12 = elevate
• 6 = depress
• 3 = protract
• 9 = retract

Moving through each direction builds:
• Better scapular awareness
• Improved shoulder stability
• Reduced pain + injury risk
• Stronger foundation for lifting & daily tasks

Quadruped position keeps it low-load and controlled—perfect for rehab, warm-ups, or refining movement quality.

Balance exercises like BOSU squats, wobble board shifts, and half-foam walking improve proprioception, core stability, and coordination—key for injury prevention and functional movement.

Scapular strength is the foundation of healthy shoulder movement!

When the muscles around the shoulder blade are weak or uncoordinated, everything above it has to compensate… this leads to pain, poor mechanics, and decreased function. Strengthening the scapular stabilizers improves posture, enhances shoulder mobility, and supports efficient movement in everyday tasks and higher-level activities.

In PT, we don’t just treat the shoulder—we build the base that supports it.

Strong scapula = better movement, less pain, more function

We love when our patients tell us an exercise is too easy 😉

Honesty is the best policy — it helps us challenge you the right way and get you back to doing what you love faster!

Neuromuscular training is about control, coordination, and communication between your brain and body. Neuromuscular training helps improve balance, stability, and movement efficiency, reducing injury risk and speeding up recovery. Every rep trains your nervous system, not just your muscles! 🏃‍♀️🤸‍♂️

Today we’re working on ⚡️ reaction time with ‘Tap It’ for stroke rehab! Patient instructed to tap the color red! 🔴

Why reaction timing games for hemiplegia?

- Improve processing speed + motor planning
- Activate the affected side & reduce learned non-use
- Enhance visual-motor integration
- Challenge attention and sustained focus
- Promote neuroplasticity through repetitive, task-specific training
- Improve safety with balance reactions, fall prevention & community mobility

Functional, engaging, and purposeful — because neuro rehab should translate to real life.

Advanced ACL rehab isn’t about just “graduating” from basic exercises — it’s about restoring real-life strength, stability, and confidence.

In outpatient PT, once swelling is down and foundational strength is back, we progress to:

• Progressive, heavy lower extremity strengthening
• Single-leg loading & symmetry work
• Sit ↔ stand power
• Dynamic balance & uneven surface work
• Deceleration and controlled directional changes
• Objective functional testing (not just “it feels good”)

After an ACL injury or reconstruction, rehab should prepare you for:

• Busy workdays
• Long walks
• Chasing kids
• Navigating crowds, stairs, and uneven surfaces
