Whether you’re in the middle of a divorce, contemplating it, or trying to figure out who you are after everything has changed, you don’t have to navigate this chapter alone.

This group is a space for women to come together, share, process, and be supported by people who understand the complicated emotions that can come with divorce and separation.

There’s grief. There’s uncertainty. There may be relief, fear, anger, or even hope for what comes next. Whatever you’re feeling, there’s space & so much support for it.

Healing does take time. And yes, with time, things will get better. You may not hurt the way you did in the beginning. But time isn’t the only thing that helps you heal.

Healing also requires reflection, accountability, honesty, and active change. It means being willing to sit with what happened, understand how it impacted you, recognize your own patterns, and ask yourself what needs to be different moving forward.

Because time can soften the pain, but it won’t change the patterns that contribute to it.

Sometimes healing means learning to set boundaries, choosing yourself sooner, changing how you communicate, or no longer accepting what you once tolerated.

Our past relationships can teach us a lot about our boundaries, our needs, and the things we may have normalized for too long.

I started doing Reiki sessions with Urvi - Coach / Mom / Spiritual Healer after a friend recommended it as something that could help me manage my anxiety, grief, & while also helping me release some of the emotional weight I’ve been carrying. I didn’t really have any expectations. I needed a space to release the weight of things that just felt so heavy for me and was causing me to feel emotionally, mentally & physically drained. The few sessions I’ve had really forced me to slow down, listen to my body & truly take care of myself in ways I never had.

& something Urvi said to me that i’ve carried since is “The person who always is the caretaker, needs to be taken care of, & no one will do that for you better than yourself.”

Most of time, your partner probably isn’t looking for a solution, they’re looking for connection.

When they come to you upset, frustrated, sad or even anxious, it’s not because they want you to fix it, they want you to understand why they’re feeling the way they are. They want to feel heard, be seen & acknowledged for their feelings.

Empathy will do so much more than a solution ever will.

9 years ago, I took a bet on myself and started Manu Counseling. At that time I had recently moved to Charlotte without friends or family, just fresh out of grad school & starting out in my career. I remember telling myself I don’t know how but I’m gonna figure this out. I don’t come from a family of entrepreneurs, so starting something of my own with not having any knowledge of how to run a business was so scary and risky.

I learned how to build a website watching YouTube videos on my lunch break, I read so many articles about running a business, how to manage finances , taxes, SEO, Google ads etc. I started showing up on social media & learned how to market & build connections with people to create a community.

All of this to say, the bet I took on myself 9 years ago, led me to work with organizations like the NFL, Fox News, Huffpost etc. But more importantly, it led
me to the best clients, who more than anything have taught me so much about myself as a therapist. I’m a firm believer that the universe brings the right clients to me because we’re meant to learn something from each other.

To my former & present clients: I feel so eternally grateful that I was given an opportunity to be alongside your journey of healing. It’s not easy to ask for help and show up in a place where you have to face yourself even in the most vulnerable moments.

To my friends & fam: In the years of so many transitions in my life, the ones that stayed for the ride professionally & personally, all I have is gratitude. Lucky me, to have a circle of family who always is ready to help carry the weight of life.

To my Riyu: You’re the love IN my life, I have always needed. My Ace. My life is better because you’re in it. You don’t know the lengths I would go for you.

& to my Ba and Dada, I hope you’re watching & are proud.

You know those therapy sessions, where you spend most of it, explaining your family dynamics, your culture, and the expectations that you feel obligated to live up to? & then before you know it the session is over but you haven’t gotten to the reason why you’re in therapy?

Yeah, you don’t gotta do that with me because I already know most of it. That’s the best part about working with someone who already knows a large part of your identity. There’s less explaining & more healing.

What is balance?? 🫠

Somewhere along the way, I confused consideration with self-sacrifice.

The hard part wasn’t recognizing other people’s needs it was recognizing when I had stopped recognizing my own.
