As therapists, one of the biggest misconceptions about therapy is that if progress feels slow, therapy must not be working.
But healing is often more nuanced than that.
Therapy can feel less beneficial when insight never becomes action, sessions become a place to only vent, the therapist-client fit isn’t right, or change is expected without consistency, discomfort, or accountability.
Therapy isn’t the problem.
Sometimes the process needs adjusting.
