Im officially over these store prices. Groceries, hygiene items, the smaller portions, its all ridiculous. Though the changes have been slow, its adding up quickly as the months go by. I was going to make a budget dinner video tonight. I went to check prices to get the total confirmed.... 2 items have gone up $1 or more since I bought the ingredients last week.

Its exhausting at this point.

Today marks one year since K’s stroke.

It has been the hardest, most terrifying, and most life-altering year of our lives. This post is about my journey; his story is his to tell.

I want to start off by saying, K is doing amazing. He is a warrior and his will to fight is what got him this far.

Ive learned so much in this journey. Somethings I was prepared for, but most of it has been quite traumatic and im not going to sugar coat that. This experience is life altering for myself, K and our children.

A stroke doesn’t end when someone leaves the hospital. It doesn’t end when they can speak, walk, work, or appear okay from the outside. The reality is that we are still navigating the effects every single day. I am still his advocate and his defense mechanism. I still help him communicate, process information, and navigate things that most people never see. If you care for someone with brain trauma, you know the moments i speak of, please know you are not alone.

This year has required a level of strength, patience, and vigilance I didn’t know I had.

We always assume tomorrow will look like today.
Until it doesn’t.
Im still trying to process how quickly that became reality for us. Im still processing everything.

This experience gave us something most people never get: a second look at life and a second chance to appreciate the things we once took for granted.

We went to the beach this year, and I just cried as I stood at the water. I was overwhelmed by everything it took to get there. By how close we came to losing him. By how much fear, grief, and gratitude can exist in the same breath.

One year later, we’re still here.
Still navigating health concerns.
Still learning. Still progressing.
STILL CHOOSING LIFE.
We are more grateful than ever for each day we get on this beautiful earth together 💙
May spirit continue to keep us.

The new location is HUGE at over 13,000 square feet of books, toys, games, gifts, vinyl and all kinds of fun stuff.

They have Asian-style breads and pastries, beautiful cakes, croissants, cream buns, boba, specialty drinks, and their Korean bingsu which is basically fluffy, snow-like shaved ice that melts in your mouth. 🤤

One thing to know: they currently do not offer gluten-free items
