For World Su***de Prevention Day, I wanted to make something practical, not another vague reminder to “check in,” but language you can actually use when you’re worried about someone.

Save this before you need it. Share it with someone who might need the words.

Crisis-support resources are included in the final slides.

Save this. Share it. Start the conversation.

Is playing GTA 6 cheating? 🎮
I spoke with Anna Rose Iovine at Mashable about the relationship debate surrounding GTA 6 and its optional fictional romance.

My answer? I would not inherently consider playing the game cheating.

But that does not mean someone’s discomfort is ridiculous or that the conversation is unnecessary.

Couples often get stuck arguing over the label: “Does this count as cheating?” They miss the more useful question: What about this behavior actually hurts?

Technology is changing faster than our relational scripts. That means couples need to talk about new experiences, expectations, and boundaries instead of assuming they already agree.

And we need to have those conversations in a way that allows for repair. Because shame might punish someone, but it does not help them change.

Thank you to Anna Rose Iovine and Mashable for the thoughtful conversation.

Two things people are always surprised to learn about me:

1. I love my chickens.
2. I love to garden.

And yes, the eggs are great. But they are not really the point.

For me, this is mental health care.

Chickens and gardening force me into a pace that is slower than the rest of my life. I have to notice. I have to tend to something. I have to wait. I cannot make a tomato grow faster because I have a deadline, and a chicken does not care that I am busy.....

They also remind me that caring for ourselves does not always look like rest, escape, or doing less. Sometimes caring for yourself means having something that brings you back into your life and asks you to participate in it.

That is what this does for me.
The eggs and food are the bonus. The connection is the reason.

What is one thing in your life that helps you feel more present, grounded, or connected to yourself?

I’ve been a Cosmopolitan reader for far longer than I care to admit. It was absolutely the kind of magazine I used to sneak into my bedroom and read cover to cover.
So the fact that I now get to show up in its pages as a s*x therapist feels a little surreal.

In this piece, we talk about what happens when s*xiness stops being something we perform and becomes something we actually experience. What does s*xiness feel like when it isn’t about how you look, how you’re being perceived, or whether someone else wants you?
I’m so honored to be quoted in this thoughtful article by Jackie and grateful to be part of a conversation about celibacy, pleasure, desire, and the ways we learn to relate to our own s*xuality.

Still kind of can’t believe this one. 💗

People often assume therapy works because therapists have the right advice or know exactly what to say.
Advice can be helpful, but research CONSISTENTLY shows that one of the strongest predictors of therapeutic change is the quality of the therapeutic relationship....

When someone experiences a relationship that is consistent, accepting, and emotionally safe, it can begin to challenge beliefs they've carried for years:

Maybe I don't have to earn care.
Maybe I don't have to hide parts of myself.
Maybe I can be fully known and still accepted.

That's one of the most meaningful parts of this work. 💛
