This is what Heroes' Movement is all about. 💪🇺🇸

Just 3–4 months ago, Marine veteran Michael Hernandez came to our program dealing with injuries that were keeping him from doing some of the things he loved most.

He couldn't even hold his newborn baby without pain, let alone get back on the rugby field with the Marine Rugby team. Fast forward a few months… watch this play! 🏉 🔥

Michael's transformation has been incredible. And while seeing him back on the rugby field is amazing, what matters even more is what this progress means for his everyday life and his family.

This is why we do what we do at Heroes' Movement. We're helping veterans regain their strength, confidence, and ability to enjoy life again.

And we want to create more success stories like Michael's.

“One day at a time. We getting there.” — Coach Thumbz.

2 months ago, Richard had an accident that led to a severe brain bleed and put him on a road to recovery. When he was ready to get moving again, Coach Thumbz knew Richard couldn’t go straight back to his normal workout. It was about meeting him exactly where he was and building from there.

Early on, that meant improvising. Very light resistance. Simple movements. Working on getting Richard comfortable using his body again. As Thumbz put it: “Stay improvising. Team Ross! Comeback season!” And then they started building.

More resistance. More movement. Working on his mechanics, reaction and coordination. Challenging him just enough to keep moving forward without trying to skip steps.
“One day at a time.” And the work is paying off. Richard is moving faster. His movement is becoming more fluid. And just three weeks back into working together, he was already moving without his wheelchair. Or, in Coach Thumbz’s words: “We cooking 🔥 The Richard recovery journey! 💪 ”

There’s still work to do and that’s okay. We just warming up. 🔥
Richard’s story is a great example of what we believe at Progressive Health & Performance: You don’t need to be “ready for the gym.” You just need someone who knows how to meet you where you are and help you take the next step. We’re proud of you, Richard.

We want this post to reach the veteran who needs it. The veteran dealing with an old injury. The one whose health has gotten worse over the last few years. The one who knows they need to exercise but doesn’t feel comfortable walking into a normal gym. The one who has tried before and keeps getting hurt.

helps veterans access personalized training, nutrition support, and coaching at Progressive Health & Performance. Veterans can receive their first 3 months of semi-private personal training 2x/week at no cost, with the possibility of continued support based on need and program funding. No fitness level required. No need to “get in shape first.” We start with a Discovery Session where we sit down, learn what’s going on, and figure out whether we can help.
