Patients trust fake physician reviews more than genuine reviews

“Fake physician reviews collected more helpful votes and scored higher on perceived trustworthiness than genuine patient reviews, according to a study of 5,000 online physician reviews.” Researchers found that fake reviews generally “were longer, and they said more about symptoms, diagnoses, medications and treatment. Genuine reviewers rarely offer that much.” The findings were published in Internet Research.

Light Therapy Improves Sleep Cycles And Activity Levels Of Older Adults In Cities With Diminished Exposure To Natural Light, Study Finds

“Light therapy lamps improved the sleep cycles and activity levels of older adults in cities who had diminished exposure to natural light, researchers” concluded in a study of “more than 200 people ages 63 to 92.” The study “showed that people with more light exposure also had increased daytime activity, improved wakefulness during the day and better sleep quality, researchers said.” The study was published in the Journal of Pineal Research.

Menopausal women struggling with cognitive lapses benefited from hormone therapy combination

“Menopausal women struggling with memory lapses, trouble concentrating and slower thinking benefited from hormone therapy combining estriol and progesterone,” according to researchers who “followed 20 menopausal women with an average age of 53. The women received combination treatment with estriol and progesterone for one year to see how the therapy would affect their brain fog.” Following the treatment, “participants reported significant improvements in brain fog, concentration, working memory, processing speed, verbal memory and problem-solving.” The study was published in Scientific Reports.
