Owning and operating a farm can be very challenging and may involve conflicts with other farmers, businesses, or agencies. That’s why the Michigan Community Mediation Association, of which Northern Community Mediation (NCM) is a member, is available to provide dispute resolution services for Michigan farmers.

“The biggest thing is to help farmers understand that we’re here and that we have a broad range of ability in helping them to resolve whatever dispute it may be,” says Jenny Miner with the Michigan Community Mediation Association (MCMA).

Call NCM at 231.487.1771 for further information and/or to arrange for a neutral third-party to facilitate a mediation.

On Tuesday, May 26, Leadership Little Traverse held its 25th graduation ceremony. Wow! And to think that one of the members of this class was our very own Case Manager Jennifer Mancini. Over the years, a common remark to hear from many of the graduates of the program is “It was a life changing experience.” Those are Jennifer’s words as well.

Hopefully, everyone had a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend complete with family, friends, picnics and warm, sunny weather. Equally important, hopefully everyone took the time to reflect upon the fact that memorial Day is more than the kick-off to summer. It is a time to be thankful for the sacrifices that so many men and women have made to ensure the freedoms that we have.
