At St. Christopher's, we go above and beyond to make sure every child’s smile is cared for. For children with complex or neurodiverse needs, our dental team works closely with pediatric anesthesia, oral surgery, ENT, cardiology and other specialties to coordinate care in one visit whenever possible.

By combining dental treatment with other needed procedures or testing under a carefully tailored anesthesia plan, we help reduce stress, limit repeated anesthesia exposure, and make care easier for families.

Less stress. Less risk. More reasons to smile.

This National Smile Day, help us keep those smiles coming.

It was a magical night: the annual St. Christopher's Oncology Prom for kids facing serious medical issues. St. Chris and the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation hosted the Snow White-themed "Mirror Mirror" event, where prom-goers received the full experience of dinner, a DJ, dancing, a photo booth, crafts, games, gift bags, and more.

This event helps fill the gap for patients who may miss their prom due to health issues. It’s also an opportunity for their siblings and parents to celebrate with them. We are grateful to the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation for its support, and to all the volunteers who helped bring this wonderful event to life.

National Trauma Survivors Day honors the strength, determination, and resilience of children recovering from traumatic injuries and events, alongside their families and caregivers.

Yesterday, the Trauma Survivors Network Chapter at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children hosted a sidewalk fair for childhood trauma survivors and their families, featuring activities to celebrate resilience, share survivor stories, and connect with local community resources to support their healing journey.

The day aimed to foster hope, celebrate recovery, raise awareness, and provide the kids with a little fun, including the opportunity to plant a flower at a potting table to take home, in recognition of their healing journeys. 💙

As we celebrate National Nurses Week, we’re letting our incredible nurses know how much we appreciate the work they do. 💙

One of the ways we’ve shown our appreciation was with a cart filled with gifts and treats, delivered to the units by our Acting President and Chief Nursing Officer, Claire Alminde, MSN, RN, and our nursing leadership.

We’re so thankful for our amazing nurses, and grateful for the difference their skill and compassion makes in the lives of our patients and their families, each and every day.

It was a touching evening this week, when families who made the life-saving decision to donate their late child’s organs to help save others were celebrated in a ceremony honoring their courage and selflessness.

The event was part of St. Christopher’s National Donate Life Month activities to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

Nationally, almost 1,900 children received lifesaving transplants in 2025, matched from nearly 900 pediatric organ donors. Right now, there are more than 2,200 children on the national transplant waiting list. More than 700 children waiting for a donor organ are under 6 years old.

Meet Fergus!

Believe it or not, at 120 pounds, this super-friendly Dogue de Bordeaux Mastiff was the “runt of the litter”… but around here, he’s a very big and beloved part of the care team.

On National Therapy Animal Day, we’re celebrating the comfort, connection, and smiles that Fergus and our pet therapy volunteers bring to patients and families every day. From easing anxiety to brightening tough moments, their impact goes far beyond what words can describe.

Support programs like this and the care we provide by visiting the link below and selecting “Therapy Dog” from the dropdown menu.
