One of the biggest barriers to pelvic floor PT? People often don’t know what to expect!
•
Pelvic health physical therapy is much more than just Kegels — and your first visit is centered around understanding you, your symptoms, and your goals.
•
We talk about things like bladder/bowel symptoms, pain, pregnancy or postpartum recovery, exercise, daily activities, and how your symptoms are affecting your life.
•
A pelvic floor PT evaluation may include assessment of breathing, posture, core strength, hips, mobility, and movement patterns. Internal assessment can sometimes be helpful, but it is always optional and only performed with your consent.
•
Most importantly: pelvic floor PT should feel collaborative, supportive, and individualized to your needs! ✨
