We are so proud to celebrate one of our own! On Friday, May 8, Kathryn Holloway, M.D., will deliver the keynote address at the VCU School of Medicine's 2026 graduation ceremonies.

Over more than 40 years at VCU, Dr. Holloway has devoted herself to clinical innovation, research and mentorship, shaping the careers of countless students, residents and fellows. We are deeply grateful for the lasting legacy she has built here.

The first female neurosurgeon to join VCU's faculty, Dr. Holloway is a true trailblazer whose dedication to her patients, her craft and her mentees has inspired everyone who has worked alongside her. Richmond magazine’s 2026 Top Docs issue has hit the newsstands – and it’s full of familiar names. To be specific, 93 CHoR physicians, advanced practice providers and specialty nurses were voted by their peers as the ones they’d recommend for care in their areas of expertise.
