Thursday, May 7, 2026 - Saginaw, Michigan -- Something very special happened earlier this week.

I was honored to have been asked to sit down with none other than Fox News Senior Correspondent Eric Shawn for a one-on-one interview at the funeral home for a special segment he is developing to commemorate our country's 250th anniversary on a topic that is near and dear to me.

We spent part of the morning talking about the life, patriotism, and death of my dear friend, Bob Heft, the designer of America's 50-star flag.

Bob's story is one of those rare occurrences where you were alive at the same time with someone who was at the very core of our country's history.

The special broadcast has yet to be announced but is expected to air later this summer. It promises to be befitting of America's special milestone and of the creator of our current flag.

I will announce an airing date here when I know. Stay tuned.

Be sure to read the captions with each photo.

We are open and ok.

I arrived to the office early this morning to the aftermath of a pretty significant single vehicle crash.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 26, 2026, a driver lost control of their vehicle at the curve on the 1200 block of N. Michigan Ave. and left a path of destruction, damaging the front lawn of the Saginaw Art Museum, before launching the car over our neighbor's concrete ramp, sending the handrails flying before taking out all of our front lights and coming to a rest on top of our sign.

By the time I arrived to the office this morning, the car and driver were long removed from the scene.

No one at our place or at the church were hurt. I have no information on the driver of the errant vehicle. We do hope they are ok.

No significant damage to our building occurred. The yard and the sign took most of the direct hit.

Suffice it to say, all "signs" point to clean up and repair in the near future. Please pardon our dust....and dirt as we prepare to fix it better than before.

We had a terrific day yesterday sharing information toward positive mental health through our free grief support services at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Health Fair.

Thank you to the organizers for providing an event for me to help educate the importance of understanding grief. I was able to introduce our suite of free services available on our website. Several people were thankful for the information due to a loss they experienced.

Congratulations to the winner of our Kroger gift card giveaway.
