Skiing and snowboarding season is coming, and your knees don’t care how good your gear is. 🎿

Research in competitive ski racers keeps finding the same pattern: when one leg absorbs or produces force differently than the other, that’s worth paying attention to. The good news is that you can measure it before you’re on the mountain.

Our Athletic Performance Testing looks at how you land, balance, and push off, then gives you a baseline to track all season. Swipe to see what we test. ➡️

Pain that lingers long after tissue has healed? Your nervous system never got the memo that the threat passed. “Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers” explains why.

Your body can’t tell the difference between a deadline and a lion. 🦓 Zebras outrun the threat and go back to grazing. Humans get cut off in traffic and marinate in cortisol over a meeting that hasn’t even happened yet.

Stanford neuroscientist Robert Sapolsky breaks down what chronic stress does to your heart, gut, sleep, and immune system — and why the real danger is stress that never switches off.

Less “how to relax,” more “here’s the biology of why you can’t.” Understanding that is half the fix.

Required reading for anyone whose nervous system is stuck in the on position.

Stress isn’t always the problem. It’s our ability to recover from it that matters.

Training, competition, injury, work, travel and everyday life all contribute to an athlete’s total stress load. When that load consistently outpaces recovery, it can affect sleep, tissue recovery, training adaptation and ultimately performance.

The goal isn’t to eliminate stress—stress is how we adapt. The goal is to build the capacity to handle it, recover from it, and come back ready for more.

Recovery is part of performance.

A new season. A fresh start. From a whole new continent. 🏈🇦🇺

As the 49ers kick off 2026 in Australia, athlete preparedness takes on a whole new meaning—from training and recovery to travel, sleep and adapting across time zones.

Here’s to a healthy season, strong returns for those still rehabbing, and keeping the best athletes where we all want to see them: on the field.

Good luck, Niners! ❤️💛

Over half of non-contact injuries happen during the transition back into structured training — not mid-season, not at the peak, but right at the restart.

This tip comes straight from our latest blog, “Back to School, Back to You.” Whether you’re lacing up for a fall season or easing back into your own routine, the same rule applies: ease in to stay in.

Think ACL tears and shin splints are just a high school athlete problem? Think again.

The same injury mistakes sidelining teen athletes this season are quietly sidelining parents getting back into the gym, new grads chasing their first 5K, and lifelong athletes who “know better.”

Our newest blog breaks down the #1 mistake in each group — and how to actually fix it before the season resets.

Human connection isn’t just nice to have—it’s biologically essential. 🧠

In Why Brains Need Friends, neuroscientist Ben Rein makes the case that social interaction is a core driver of brain health, not a bonus. He breaks down why a phone call hits different than a text, why in-person presence matters, and why isolation registers in the body as a real threat to health—raising risk of illness and early death right alongside other major health factors.

Backed by neuroscience and real-world research, this book explores how relationships (human and animal!) shape our mood, resilience, and cognitive function—and offers practical tools for building a “social diet” that supports a healthier, longer, more connected life. ✨

Use the tools in this book to boost your daily quality of life 📖

We’re officially in the second half of the year. Are you halfway to where you want to be?

Maybe you’re crushing it. Maybe things slipped. Maybe you’re not even sure what you were chasing back in January. Either way, it’s never too late for a reset.

“The Mid-Year Reset” monthly tracker will help you take a breath, look back, and build the second half on purpose.
