You think it won’t be you until it is.

The Moms of America are watching this trial unfold with grief for a multitude of reasons. But especially because many are silently whispering “me too” as our own flashbacks of hardship are unlocked.

Moments we’ve accepted, buried or pushed aside because life kept going & we were the fortunate ones that got through it.

But it doesn’t change that it happened and keeps happening. Postpartum is hard. Much harder than understood or can be captured at a single 6 week check in.

Even in the midst of my struggles, I remember comments like:
“well you had them close together . . .” or “yeah, I struggled too but don’t we all.”

And it pushed me to bury myself deeper in denial.
That it was just me & it was “just a bad day”.

But then they became bad DAYS.

Days that put me in a place of confusion that I’d never faced before despite usually being confident.

And I share all of this not for rabbit hole deep dives or finger pointing but to shed a light on the outside.

We may “look” fine, the reality is, many Moms in PP are not & we deeply need the help we don’t want to burden others with by asking.

Truth be told, I still hide this photo and I don’t enjoy walking past this spot every year at the annual fall festivities because it’s hard to feel that moment so deeply and knowing that I could not “make it all better” no matter how badly I wanted to.

This isn’t a piece of me I love to share and it’s hard to do. But it’s also made me the Mom I am & a Mom who can say,
“I get it. I’m here. Let me help.”

Sometimes we just want that weight lifted.

We want someone to know.

And in the ever swirling busy-ness of motherhood, don’t doubt that you deserve love, help, or a moment.

You deserve it all & you are never a burden by asking 🫶🏻

⭐️🦋Shoutout to one of our MVPs

She has said to me many times, “I just want to do the best for these kids.”

And her fear that she doesn’t is actually what makes her such a gift at what she does.

As we’ve built this practice, we’ve continually strived to care for families as our own.

It’s easy for people to find reasons to take money. Yet, sometimes what matters more is a person’s ability to say “I’m not the right fit YET, you should instead do XYZ.” That’s genuine patient-centered care.

I’m so proud that our team embodies that & it’s reflected in moments like this to families in our community who deserve it.
