I use three simple phrases on stage to validate, mobilize, and empower — and you can use them today. 1) “I see you.” — Shows recognition and builds trust. Try this when someone shares a struggle. 2) “What do you need next?” — Moves people toward action and choice. Use it to invite support or solutions. 3) “We rise together.” — Strengthens collective belonging and momentum. Say it in groups or community chats. As a licensed social worker and speaker, I’ve tested these with women across healing journeys, especially Black women in Toledo.
