At Two years old unfortunately I lost my Mum to su***de, starting my trauma and the need to fill a void, raised in an English household there was no cheerleading, but had everything I needed, raised by an amazing Father, who did his best. As a teenager in Nor Cal, and Unable to fill this abandonment Psychological issue, I turned to drugs and alcohol to fill this hole, and choose my acquaintances poorly. Leading to bad decisions which eventually led me to programs, jails and then Prison. And one more time in our very own Fairbanks corrections facility.
Realizing my way wasn’t working by the grace of a God I only reached to in jail, his presence was known when I was released, I reached out to him in my final need and he provided. One of the first blessing was the Alono club and a phone number to TNR where Morgan Roybal answered my call expressing “just get here”.
So I did… and became a client.
Since that day 1198 days ago, TNR and the people that work here, Matt Wrights guidance, God, and the 12step programs, I have become the best version of me, a great Father my two children are proud of me, and a son to a Father who never gave up on me and can be proud of.
I’m honored and been blessed for management (you know who you are) 🥰 signing me up for courses to improve my ability to share my personal recovery Experience strengths and Hopes to clients, foster well being and Happiness, change and grow, find a better life to live, and be present in there families lives.
Thanks to TNR I love my life.

True North Recovery is excited to invite the Ketchikan community to celebrate an important milestone as we prepare to open our Launchpad walk-in crisis services!

Join us on November 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM for our ribbon cutting at 2208 E Tongass Ave in Ketchikan.

This is an exciting step forward in expanding access to crisis services and strengthening support for individuals and families in our community. Together, we’re working toward a future where people can access help when they need it most.

We look forward to celebrating with our community partners, neighbors, and friends as we continue our mission:

TERESA FAUCETTE, Mental Health Clinician / Assessment Program Manager

At True North Recovery, we are fortunate to have team members who bring not only expertise to their work, but also the compassion, authenticity, and human connection that make a lasting difference. Teresa is one of those people.

Knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate, and always able to bring a little humor when it is needed most, Teresa brings extensive experience in the behavioral health field to both her team and the clients she serves. She generously shares her knowledge with colleagues while bringing that same depth of experience and clinical insight into every assessment.

Teresa has a unique ability to meet people exactly where they are. She truly embodies trauma-informed care in the way she approaches each person with curiosity rather than judgment, compassion rather than assumptions, and an awareness of how important safety, trust, choice, and connection can be. She creates space for clients to share their stories, challenges, and hopes for recovery at their own pace, while honoring each person’s individual experience.

Her presence communicates that people are seen, heard, and valued. Teresa also has a gift for holding people accountable while leading with love, compassion, and genuine care. She can challenge, encourage, support, and even make you laugh—all while remaining grounded in the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

Her trauma-informed approach extends beyond her work with clients. Teresa brings that same compassion and understanding to her relationships with colleagues, creating a team environment where people feel supported, encouraged, and valued.

We are grateful for the knowledge, experience, humor, compassion, and heart Teresa brings to True North Recovery and to every person she has the privilege of serving. 💙

Join True North Recovery’s Training Academy for our 40-Hour In-Person Peer Training, October 19–23, 2026, in Wasilla!

This training brings together experienced TNR professionals and respected subject matter experts who bring extensive real-world experience and industry knowledge to the classroom. Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning, participants will explore the connection between mental health and substance use while building the skills needed to support others on their recovery journey.

Participants will learn how to:

Provide peer support grounded in respect and empathy.

Understand the impacts of trauma and stigma on recovery.

Build trust, connection, and hope through shared experience.

Strengthen their skills within a supportive peer community.

Learn from knowledgeable facilitators and guest presenters who are committed to advancing peer support and strengthening recovery services across Alaska.

Bright, knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely welcoming, Tara brings an infectious energy and warm Southern charm to every client interaction. She has a natural ability to take what can sometimes feel like a stressful or overwhelming assessment process and turn it into a comfortable, supportive conversation.

With a strong clinical foundation and a client-centered approach, Tara thoughtfully guides individuals through the assessment process while taking the time to understand their unique experiences, needs, and goals. Whether navigating complex circumstances or simply helping someone take those first steps toward support, she approaches each interaction with patience, kindness, and genuine care.

Tara’s smile may brighten the room, but it is her ability to help people feel safe, respected, heard, and welcomed that truly makes an impact.
