Our Woodbury Campus came alive with an unforgettable day of water play, creative crafts, exciting games, live music, dancing, and nonstop fun! Every activity brought people together to laugh, connect, and celebrate the joy of summer while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

🚴 Riding with purpose. Making a difference.

In the months leading up to the 19th Annual Town of Babylon's Wounded Warrior Soldier Ride, the individuals we support proudly helped spread the word by visiting local businesses throughout the Town of Babylon, hanging flyers, and connecting with business owners to raise awareness for this incredible cause.

Their dedication and enthusiasm helped make this year's event a success! On July 17, Team CDD rode alongside more than 1,200 riders and raised an incredible $3,397 in support of the Wounded Warrior Project.

We're so proud of everyone who contributed their time, energy, and heart to honor and support the brave men and women who have served our country. Together, we're making a meaningful difference. 💙

Our EQUIP team had an incredible visit to LifeVac to kick off our Career of the Month: Healthcare Workers! 💙

Team members gained hands-on experience learning how a LifeVac device is built and how to use a LifeVac in the event of a choking emergency. The team also heard powerful stories about the lives it has helped save while touring LifeVac's "Hall of Saves." It was an inspiring opportunity to explore careers that make a real difference in patient safety and emergency preparedness.

A special shout-out to LifeVac Owner/Inventor Arthur Lih III, COO Mike Singer, President Laura Bonelli, and VP of Sales Heidi Felix for providing such an engaging, informative, and memorable experience. Your passion, expertise, and commitment to saving lives made a lasting impact on our team.

Our EQUIP team members had a fantastic visit to Ralph’s Italian Ices in Westbury as part of our prevocational career exploration experience! 🍧

During this hands-on opportunity, they toured the shop, learned how the business operates day-to-day, and explored what it takes to serve customer favorites. From preparing treats to setting out scoopers, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space, EQUIP team members gained insight into a variety of important roles. It was a fun and engaging day filled with learning, teamwork, and real-world skill building that supports future workplace success.

A big thank you to Rich and his team at Ralph’s for the warm welcome and for creating such a meaningful experience!

Today is the start of Disability Pride Month and we’ll be celebrating disability identity, culture, and leadership all month long before we observe the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) signed on July 26, 1990. We want to see ALL OF YOU at the Disability Pride Month celebration at the Empire State Plaza in Albany on July 8th. There will be plenty of opportunities to have fun and show your pride. This month, our EQUIP team had the opportunity to visit the Huntington Public Library for an interactive and informative career exploration experience.

A special thank you to Maureen and Jose for providing our participants with a hands-on tour and sharing their knowledge about careers in library services. During our visit, we explored several areas of the library, including the History Room, Makerspace, and explored the library's technology resources and equipment. Participants also had the chance to meet librarian clerks, learn about their daily responsibilities, and gain insight into the many roles that help keep a library running smoothly. Our individuals were engaged throughout the tour, asked thoughtful questions, and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the various career opportunities available within a public library setting.

We are so proud of all they have accomplished and the hard work, determination, and growth they have shown throughout their journey. As they move on to their next chapter, we know they will continue to achieve great things and make us proud.
