**Barkuma Connect | July Edition – Growing Together**

Growth looks different for everyone.

This month, we're sharing stories that show how growth and progression happen over time with the right opportunities, encouragement and support.

Inside this edition:
• Thomas's journey of advocacy, leadership and employment.
• How our Transition Program helps students prepare for life beyond school.
• Amber Aged Care's commitment to creating meaningful career opportunities through inclusive employment.
• Chelsea's story of continuing to build her skills and confidence through barista training.

Together, these stories remind us that progression isn't defined by one big moment. It's built through everyday opportunities to learn, contribute and take the next step.

Read the latest edition of **Barkuma Connect** and discover how we're growing together.

National NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme is “50 Years of Deadly.” It marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week, celebrating strength, resilience, and culture, while honouring the people and communities who have led the way. It recognises the generations who have kept culture strong and continue to shape the future.

NAIDOC Week is for everyone. It provides an opportunity to deepen understanding of the world’s oldest living cultures and to participate in celebrations of community, culture, and pride.

This is the third video in our series exploring what belonging and connection mean to students in Barkuma's Transition Program.

When we asked the question, we didn't realise how big a role Barkuma would play in many of their answers.

We're so grateful to these young people for sharing something so personal. Their words are a powerful reminder of the importance of feeling connected, supported and part of a community.

Watch the video to hear what they had to say.
