Keep it moving team 😄🙌

We’ve all been told at some point to “sit up straight”, “pull your shoulders back”, or that there’s one perfect posture we should be aiming for. But the truth is, there isn’t a single posture that’s best for everyone.

Your posture is individual. What feels comfortable and works well for one person may not be right for another. The “best” posture depends on a number of factors, including your strength, flexibility, daily activities, work demands, previous injuries, and whether or not you’re experiencing symptoms.

Our bodies love variety.
Movement improves circulation, changes the load on our muscles and joints, and gives our tissues a chance to share the work. That’s why the best posture isn’t the one that looks the most “correct” it’s the one that allows you to move regularly and comfortably throughout your day.

So instead of chasing the perfect posture, together we can find what works best for your body, your lifestyle, and your goals. 😄

🏃 City to Bay prep starts now!

With September getting closer, now is the time to start building the strength your body needs to handle the kilometres ahead.

Strength training can be a great addition to your running program, helping improve running performance while building your capacity to tolerate the demands of training.

Here are a few things we like to focus on with our runners:

✅ Quad strength and load absorption
✅ Glute and hamstring strength
✅ Calf strength and “spring”
✅ Hip flexor strength and power
✅ Single-leg strength and control

And remember, preparing for City to Bay isn’t just about getting stronger. Building your running distances appropriately and allowing enough recovery between sessions is just as important.

Whether you’re tackling your first City to Bay, stepping up your distance or chasing a PB, our physios can help you put together a plan specific to you.

Book in with one of our team via the link in our bio and let’s get you ready for September! 🏃‍♀️💨

📲 SAVE this for your next strength session + SEND it to someone you’re running City to Bay with!

DISC HERNIATION? 🤔
Returning to sport may be more achievable than you think 💪🏻

A disc herniation doesn’t always mean the end of training or sport.

In fact, many people can make an excellent recovery with the right rehabilitation, and research suggests around 81% of people return to play following a lumbar disc herniation. 📚

Late-stage rehabilitation often focuses on gradually rebuilding strength, balance and confidence as you return to higher-level activity.

Every injury is different, so rehabilitation should always be individualised and progressed at the right pace. 🙌🏻

🔥 Hip Flexor Exercises: Train vs Rehab 🔥

Not every hip flexor exercise should look the same.

In this reel, we show two variations:
🏋️ Training – for building strength, control, and resilience when you’re ready to load the tissue.
🩹 Rehab – for reducing symptoms, rebuilding confidence, and gradually restoring function when pain or injury is present.

If any exercises are causing you pain, don’t push through it. That exercise might not be right for you right now, but there are plenty of other options that can help.

At Rebuild Physio, while we help you tackle your injury we also help to adjust your routine to keep you moving in the gym.
