"The most boring trainer"
But his clients got the best results
Here is what he (and I) focus on...
I used to work with a trainer and many people said his training looked "boring"
He only did a few different exercises vs picking loads
But what he did do is get the technique of those exercises absolutely perfect. Then progressing loads for his clients over time
Leading to them getting stronger, with less injury over time
I'm absolutely not against putting exercises into training that you enjoy, or adding variety. This is important for enjoyment and mental fatigue
But what 100% gets the best results is picking highly effective exercises, getting your technique as good as you can. And then increasing loads
The skill of a great trainer is having the eye to see what needs to shift in technique and then programming exercises, reps, sets, rest, intensity to get the best results.
Try this workout if you feel stuck right now
Heel raised high bar squat 8 reps 3 sets.
Progess load over 4 weeks.
Close grip DB Press 8 reps
Prone DB Row 12 reps (pull low for lat focus)
Hamstring Curl 8 reps
Quad focused Bulgarian SS 8 reps
Start with a weight week 1 you could get 2-3 more reps
Get technique and movement right first.
By week 4 find your heaviest weight possible for all
Exercise of choice either;
Rehab focused like rotator cuff
Core
Fun exercise you just love 💕
